Hey folk, Since it's a nice day, and I've almost finished my new bedroom (and cut the grass), I thought I'd stick up a limited 7 day download for my sought after K.o.L rework! The track has been supported Tiesto, Mike Koglin, Andy Moor, Mark Sherry & Jules himself on his Radio 1 show. Something nice for the summer. This won't see the light of day unfortunately so here it is for the kind folk who have been asking about it! Enjoy! Clicky wick

Hello everyone, I'm New too site. Having discovered a cassette abused in my first cars recorded off the radio, from lush portrush, late 90's possibly 2000, on a Friday night it says. Didn't even no this haven for all things Judge existed. I'm abit tech dull so Bear with people

( someone (!!) he/she who shall be nameless !!) .. threw it out in the skip !! Grrr ... I will deffo get a new tape player and I will upload digital versions as soon as I can ... …. its important to keep this awesome trance archive alive and growing ..

Haven't been on here for ages or done any JJ Retro mixes … threw this together at the wkd. Lots of Jules Trance era stuff up on here, this stuff covers my period of clubbing in London and listening to Jules flagship Kiss Fm Fri – Sat slots from 91 – 97. If your looking Trance only then forget it. If you like "Pumping" music then check it out. These were the big tunes of the day in Jules' box and on his Kiss FM playlist … shame there are literally zero shows around from those days, as it was still very much pre-digital. I had dozens of tapes with his shows and others but they got thrown away by mistake during a move a few years back. I enjoyed tracking down these tunes as many never made it to the CD mixes that were around back then. Jules was on rotation for all the regular club nights and specials all the time. Peach @ Camden w Graham Gold, Frisky @ Ministry (he would do 3 hour sets in the box) Gallery @ Turnmills, Serious @ The Cross, Divine @ Bagleys and Lloyd Studios. Kiss did some good allnighters @ Shepard Bush Empire as well. All the other big names were always around, Fontaine, Tall Paul, John Kelly, Tony De Vit, El Tongo, Blocko and Alex P, Healy, and the rest. Its odd to look at London clubbing now with the 90s era as an afterthought, it was a seriously hedonistic time and there was so many nook and cranny places to hang out in all day after clubbing. Or just roll up to most pubs with decks and spin your own tunes. Pre-surveillance world … you can't take a shit now without it being analysed by some suits in a Batcave in the next room … glad I got my rocks off in that earache lol that was 21 years ago (WTF ...) I enjoy early Trance stuff but have always been more into a spread of styles, which Jules was more about in earlier times. Anything from Funky – Tribal – breakbeats - uplifting and the downright nutbag tunes he seemed to have an ear for. Its basically just “Pumping” … More on the way now I got the bug again lol ... enjoy.

sorry for the delay in replying .. it was defiantely described by the Judge as a ' white label' ... & no, it was definately not Tiesto's In search of sunrise ' .. although this is a amazingly good track (!) & it did not have a vocal and it was not dark .. quite the opposite in fact !! it was a melodic uplifting insrtumental trancer .. ) .... it sounded very much like a Darren Tate track .. I would not be surprised if it was him .. but there is no record of him doing a track called 'Sunrise' .. I am intrigued by what you said about 3 fingers .. do you have a copy of this ?? I would love to hear it again .. and yes, it was definately played by the Judge after the 3 fingers mix of BT;s Flaming June .. circa 2000/1 + also, thanks for your help .. !! totally awesome .. ))) System F - Solstice - 3 Fingers -

Jules's style has progressively got slower, cheesier and less focused towards Trance over the last decade - to the point where the bulk of his sets became "EDM" shite and commercial rubbish. He's been irrelevant to the Trance scene for years now unfortunately. His sound is more suited to the "three shots for a fiver" music-for-the-masses commercial / chain-owned clubs these days where 18-25 year olds are happy to hear commercial music with "Somebody screeeeeeeam" jingles slapped over the top. Gone are the days of Jules smashing out a bit of decent, pacey, "niche" tunes like Dark Monks - Insane, BK - Revolution and Mauro Picotto - Baguette at 143bpm in a main room or festival. A 133bpm Swedish House Mafia vs Bananarama vs Will.I.Am vs John McEnroe (Six Sambucas & A Strongbow "You Cannot Be Serious" Vocal Bootleg) mash-up is more apt these days*. *That bootleg may or may not be fictional before anyone tries looking for it*

I think you're getting very confused about things and getting wound up over nothing. As someone else said, if you're not happy about something, contact the admins or p.m. No need for all the threads. Please realise that there is no agenda, and we're all very happy with the way this site is run. Hopefully you'll enjoy the site as much as the rest of us then.

Have been feeling a little trance sentimental recently and reminisicing over certain classics from years gone by. The idea was also borne out of this and wanted to dig this out to share with you to pay homage to this site and its milestone 10th anniversary; quite remarkable how much work has gone in to establish, build and maintain a massive fan-base of work and following. Brilliant day this was. Zoe Ball broadcasting in the morning, beautiful sunny day down in the fantastic Portrush (my hometown). Me and the boys got the day off from working in Barry's, I was on the Dodgems that year. Really warm evening for the night broadcast, BBC went to Traks, me and the boys to Kelly's. There was massive riots after the event - council banned them from ever coming back. Great memories.

Nah mate, I remembered hearing it on this show and went out and bought the promo not long after from my old local record shop such a brilliant tune, massively underrated too, I can't believe it never got a proper release and is severely overlooked as a classic.

I really don't understand how producers don't make music like this anymore??!! it baffles me , i'm not talking production wise just quality of melodies ect. I think alot of producers around the good old days had some actual music theory under their belt. I know benno de Goeij from Rank 1, Darren Tate. Sister Bliss, Junkie XL, Tiesto's producer at that time are all classically trained musicians.

Someone must have the recording or an archive of Jules's old tracklists on radio 1 at that time.

I am new here as well, glad to be here. Even more thankful there is a website like this ! I am looking for a specific mix I use to listen to quite a bit when my gf and I first got together almost 10 years ago next month. I think it will be quite nice to find this mix and give it to her. Oh the memories lol The mix I am after is Saturday 19 August Live from Cafe Mambo, Ibiza. I see there actually is a copy of it here and I can't be more pleased. Thank you very much. Thanks for having me and thanks for download.

Sorry for the necro on this thread. Had to join to leave a comment on this one though. First, I too own a copy of Studio 613 - Join me to the Moon. God I love that track. Sought it out on vinyl after going to this and dancing like a muppet. Oh and about the photo that's posted above, I'm 99% sure that the guy with the shaven head in the lower left corner is me. Also, the setup for the plastic sheeting above the decks was a joke - water kept building up in it so they had to keep pushing it out to drain it, otherwise the whole thing would've caved in on itself, and that'd have really ruined the show!. Good times!

F.A.O Neuro As it was played on one of Jules's Sat shows then it should be listed on a Tracklisting in the Archives. I have tried searching for it in the Archives via the "search feature" on this site but unfortunately l don't think l am going about it in the right way so perhaps you could have a go. However l expect you have already done this

If you are a reluctant seller, don't sell them. That is my advise. You could give them away of course, to me, maybe. I actually do advise you not to sell if you don't want to though. May I ask why you want to sell up?

I've not read the criticism but I will start my own here with my honest opinion, which is exactly that, he has tried to cash in on the "sound" of the moment rather than stay true to his roots. That really annoys me, and the reason it has received such negative reaction is we and everybody worth his salt already knows that Ferry is THE pioneer of Trance, personally responsible for a lot of THAT special era in 1999... and this remix unfortunately will not be the gateway we hoped it might be to tempt the average young Justin Bieber listener to delve deeper into his musical consciousness and experience just for once - shall we say - the 'less commerical' side of dance music for a change. I wouldn't say I'm stuck in the past, although I admit love Ferry's mastermixes and tracks/remixes from the past, but how can you even like this stuff? How? It's so frustrating for a dance music lover, (or "EDM" as the Americans call it ), so frustrating...

I didn't know this. It really annoys me that audio has never been given as much consideration as the visual medium. Why make it 128 in the first place? That's less than 50% of the actual true sound than if you heard it live! Reminds me of the days when iTunes first came out, and people used it to rip all their music to mp3 en masse and bin their CDs - without understanding iTunes was (unfathomably) default to create mp3s at 128kbps... As far as I'm concerned, audio is a vital, precious commodity which people do not appreciate in this rather 'digitally disposible' age. The whole point of different bitrates back in the day was to make file sizes smaller. But now that disk space isn't such a scarcity, it doesn't matter in the slightest. It should be global law that all musical audio is created and maintained 320kbps! Ok I'll go find a sofa now. :sweatingbullets:

After having read leonard1's recent threads through, I have to make a quick comment regarding this whole talk about "managing" and the "Manage your ignored users" feature. Anyone on this board should be able to use the "Manage your ignored users" feature without being held for questioning as to why they choose to use it, especially not the admin and founder of this lovely website, Mr. Neuro. As to the locking of the other thread, Neuro told you in a friendly tone that if you had any problems regarding any of the users, you should take it up with them by a Private Message, and if you needed help from the staff, you were welcome to contact the moderator team. This is the internet, and free speech is a fact, yes. Even so, when visiting a privately created corner of the internet, as this website, some rules does apply. We rarely have to enforce them, since most incidents are misunderstandings or drunk people writing bollocks in the early morning, which can be forgiven. Judgejulesarchive.co.uk is, as made clear in the other threads, a very friendly messageboard constisting of diverse users from around the world, all unified by the love for the music that Judge Jules brought and still bring upon us week after week. We welcome new users every day into our community, but naturally we watch out for anyone stirring up trouble. If the rest of the board are with me, I think we should give Leonard the benefit of the doubt, wipe the slate clean and start over by saying; Welcome to the board!
