    Tune ID

Apologies, Tim. Completely oblivious to the 'Unknown Tracks' section. Moonman, got a sample of that song you think it may be? Cheers again mate
  3. Nabbing this too - loving Pryda's work of recent - nice one Tom

    Tune ID

Have been thinking about the tunes so randomly lately and you know that feeling where you are mentally trying to hmm it out in your head, but then for some reason you just get lost and can't get to what you're trying to do... Well, out of the blue the other day at work it came to me so I nipped out to make a brew and whistled it whilst recording it on my phone. Have managed to get these converted from AMR files to MP3 for you guys to help out and ID these for me! Both these tunes ain't nout special, but a sense of closure would be nice Thanks all... Sample 1 - Right click > Save Target as Sample 2 - Right click > Save Target as
  5. Spose it's Jules being modest Agreed that it is a corker - think the only time he has played a tune and confessed that he and had something to do with it was when the Green Martian remix of The Clergy's Oboe Song was T&T!

    Lost!

Second that with the Prison Break - this writers guild thing is really pantsing everything up! Have to disagree with all on the LOST though
  7. Aza

    Lost!

    Cannot wait for this!
  8. If you want to be really cool - try amazon'ing, play.com'ing, ebuyer'ing for a passport hard drive. These are about the size of a normal ipod, can hold at least 60 Gb (think you can get around 120 Gb) and are extremely portable. They look cool too Hope this helps as with the rest of the above
  9. Zipping wouldn't benefit you really in terms of compression as zipping only compresses what is repetitive data (I think) i.e. in a picture, a shade of green might be predominat and thus the zip could generate code saying use this green once but times seven in these regions when unzipped, or along those lines...), music wouldn't save you any space, unless I guess you want them just into one file?
  10. Sorry to hear that Tom... How did you manage to pick up an infection - what AV you got? Surely it should analyse EVERYTHING that comes down and scan it, if it don't like it then it deletes it compulory! I have NIS 2008 and everytime I boot up it asks me to run live update and I update at least every other day. This way you should be almost safe from most stuff out there - but as with anything not entirely! Anyhow, CD burning is not a good idea as it then becomes write once, and that disc is no longer good for you. DVD would be ok I suppose, but again write once, disc no good and can't be used again. You seem to be pretty ok with that amount of tracks and thus you could get away with putting all that stuff on a 4 Gb pen drive. You can pick these up for less than £20 now, however I would suggest getting yourself a nice external hard drive, which can be found from good places like Ebuyer.com for £50-£70 for 500 Gb!. I have two drives; one 250 Gb where I keep all media such as pics, vids, and music, and secondly, a 500 Gb which backs up what I have on the other drive. The big plus with these drives is usb 2.0 connectivity thus faster writing speeds for large volumes of data, plus you can write, re-write many times with wasting discs. A format I suppose is your last resort, but providing you BACK UP EVERYTHING, you should be back up and running. Hope this helps and you get this sorted successfully
  11. Get what you mean sometimes by avoiding clashes in mixes Stuart mate, do you have any webspace, if I were to rip your cd, where would I upload it? If I recall correctly, I'm sure your mix ended around 72mins so you could've squeezed it in perhaps Anyhow, I've uploaded my mix to my site and the tracklisting is below. If you want to go and check it out, grab the link here.... This mix, for me and like others here, was a highlight of some of the great tunes gone by spanning a good era for many of us on here. Hope you like it... JudgeJulesArchive Secret Santa 2007 - Mixed by Aza 1. DT8 Project - 'Hold Me Till The End' (12 inch mix) [Mondo] 2. Team SR - 'Leaving London' (Original Mix) [Five AM] 3. 12. Solid mixing there Stuart and some quality tunes in there - got some good upfront material there. Top marks
  13. Well I guess in relation to the above ^ that will be me as I have Mr Moonman's CD I am fairly sure I can ID most tracks, but confirmation from the source would be good a good idea  Yeah, I agree with Tim, the mixing was great Moonman, but one or two mixes seemed quickly flipped if you get me, but that's just me, I like to keep the fader in the middle for as long as possible... It would be a good idea if we all upload these somewhere now for the rest of the board, and Steve, 'secret' is now out the window since this thread is titled 'Secret Santa Revealed' Moonman: Do you have a copy of your mix digitally, or should I rip it for the rest of us? O and btw... I was eagerly antiscipating Carl B's remix of Tiesto - thought you were gonna chuck that in? It was great taking part in this and a great idea, we deffo gotta do this again and hopefully get more and more people participating
  14. Broadband is great until there is a fault hey Steve - it was rather a Traumatic experience for me when my net was down with Virgin - great offer they have, except when there is a fault or whatever, I had to ring at least a 60p/min line and then once a fault was established they merely relay that to BT because they own the line. I'm with BT now (been just over a year) and I am frightened to change in case that happens again, especially whilst I was in uni at the time and t'internet was essential for receiving and submitting work... BT are great and with excitement I am looking forward to their 21st Century network, but their prices are higher than their competitors (you can even get free evening and weekend calls inclusive compared to BT).
  15. Cheers Moonman - yeah whacked yours in the car - listened twice now there and back Any chance you could whip up a tracklist? What was the first track before Durand - like that a lot
  16. Tim has asked me to put a master thread together on the results of this great bit of fun. Here we reveal who received who's mix together with the tracklisting and feedback comments. All other members are also encouraged to check out these mix's now that this 'mini comp' has surfaced. [Moderator's, would you please pin this thread and try merging some of the comments already posted in the other thread. Then, could you kindly delete this text]. I'll kick things off here... Mix CD Received: Moonman aka Stuart Tracklisting: Not provided, although have a good feeling on most tracks played. Please could you post your tracklisting? Feedback Comments: Very good on the whole - loved the intro and first mix was energetic. I did feel that despite the best intentions of trying to stick a few different styles of tracks in, some did not flow in a structured manner, but that's just my opp  Track highlights for me were Dogz, Deadmau, Fragma (not sure if we discussed this before, but does Durand's style in this track sound like Randy Katana?). I liked the last track too, can't put my finger on the title, but the reverse spin and cut to it was good and it concluded nicely Being picky, would've liked to have the tracks split across the cd too. One particular track I didn't like and think that was after Dogz, had vox saying something like 'come into my garden'... All in all and on the whole, thumbs up  and a smile on my face  - well done and great comp!
  17. Don't think I'll waste my bandwidth - I'd never get that steaming to play a track twice...
