  1. i don't think 7" vinyl has ever really gone out in rock music. Can think of seeing old Oasis 7" singles when they first started about 12 years ago.

    Spooks or 24?

Gone for 24, as it's the best show i've watched in years. Never watched Spooks, maybe in a few years I'll get round to it. Only just started watching the first season of CSI!
  3. my 21st birthday at gatecrasher in 1999, someone threw a pound coin at jules. he'd just mixed Gouryella in, and it knocked the record so much it skipped near the end. Needless to say, Jules didn't have time to mix another record in, instead waited for it to finish, then said he wasn't playing anymore til the guy who threw it was identified. all the people around him pointed him out, Jules told him to get out before the bouncers came and kicked him out! happy days!
  4. only the 3rd person ever to die from a stingray too. my thoughts go out to his family.
  5. I agree Oakey's mixing has suffered over the past few years. Saw him in Ibiza last year however and he played one of the best sets I heard out there. Outplayed Armin van Buuren on his own night! Saw him at Global this year and was disappointed at how he'd let his mixing slip to how it was when i saw him at Creamfields in 2004. Didn't bother going to the Radio 1 night this year, heard the Oakey mix when I got back, and was satisfield I'd saved myself 60 euros.
  6. This was a 2 hour broadcast, but the first half hour was given to Dan Bailey

  8. glad i found a site that appreciates the legend that is Julesy!
  9. glad to be able to give a set back after taking my fair share from links on here. I didn't keep the Act, or Skip Raiders tracks as they were already on so many other Jules sets at the time, I'd rather have kept other tunes on this set. (I was too tight to give 2 hour tapes to all Jules sets as there were so many). i regret that now though!
  10. i'll be there and downing a few in the crown beforehand

  12. Managed to dig out this little gem from the Sanctuary in Birmingham http://d01.megashares.com/?d01=ed30060 please post if you download, thanks
  13. hehe dangerous dave! love the way they start to speak over the mic when they f*** a mix up!
  14. transa - supernova is an old 1999 tune as well, so he might have just dropped a few classics in?
  15. the new pricing doesn't come into effect until 21st august. i really do think that they've cottoned on to how many records are being sent out due to ebay etc and they're just exploiting the consumer bastards
  16. does that mean you've never been to crasher? best club ever
  17. Quadrant - I went with a few of my mates who don't go out clubbing anymore Line up was pretty much every big DJ you can think of from the trance genre, with the Chemical Brothers headlining, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules (obv), Sasha, Matt Hardwick, Scott Bond, Paul van Dyk, Tall Paul and Sonique. to get those kind of DJ's in on millenium eve, when clubbing was peaking probably cost crasher quite a bit, so you can see where the price tag came from. All the big name clubs charged around that price and most of them got the numbers in.....
  18. i was there, the night had loads of little niggles like the night should have started at 5pm, but they kept us queuing outstide in the cold until 6.40pm there were 2 sets of decks, one set went off during the chemical brothers set for about 10-15 mins, and the others just had problems all night guy climbing up the rigging just after midnight, ruining pvd's only to be played once millenium tune
  19. I'll have just landed the saturday before the ibiza week starts, so i'll be making the most of it! hehe
  20. i was at Gatecrasher Don Valley Stadium. Ok, it was freezing cold, PvD's midnight tune was ruined by some nob climbing the rigging, the decks kept playing up and it was £111 to get in, but I wouldn't have gone anywhere else!
  21. downloaded purely for the last half a dozen tracks. had the first hour and half knocking around on my hard drive for ages
  22. This set was actually broadcast from about 3.25am-4.45am on Millenium morning. And the stopping of the decks wasn't Jules, but a problem that plagued the Don Valley night itself!
