  1. Ok a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away

......(I obtained this set about 15 odd years ago) on DC++ (anybody remember those days?). The person who provided it to me was Tom Goldenscan aka Tom Lindley who was known for being the DJ frontman of Goldenscan. He was also a regular at Gatecrasher back in the day.

He gave me this set in exchange for a Scott Bond one in 1997. It could pass as a Jules and John Kelly b2b throughout however it could be Jules and John Kelly from tracks 1-9 and Seb Fontaine from tracks 10-20.

Indications are that tracks 1-9 has Jules's mix of "Trevor Reilly - Down With The Underground" and Jules is hardly not going to support his own mix.

Also track 12 makes me think this is Seb Fontaine due to the fact that he is supporting Tall Paul's mix of "Kool World Productions - In-Vader". He has shared a very lengthy bromance with Tall Paul for over 20 years with their b2b DJ sets and former residencies at Cream, Clockwork Orange etc.

Best way to find out is to see if anybody has any Gatecrasher flyers knocking about. Standard set duration was usually 90 minutes but upon occasion they would do 2 hours.

  2. His tracklist at the last Gatecrasher was superb. He played a fantastic set only to be ruined by his annoying samples!!!

It's a real shame as Jules really can play a superb trance set when he does put the effort in, but he constantly gets slated for these jingles. What's even more infuriating is that he must be well aware of the general negative feedback regarding this but rather than question it ot take any of it on board, he chooses to ignore it completely! "Somebody scream!!!"

    It’s Pulser I reckon

It's really hard to confirm or even assume it when he has quit the scene and is not contactable by Facebook etc. There's even suggestions that one of Scott Bond's IDs was done by him.

Do you have any evidence supporting this such as samples used in other Pulser tracks that makes you come to this conclusion?

Just read the reviews below. It's a real shame as he had so much talent but was clearly disappointed with the way his career was going in the industry.

  5. Been trying to identify this progressive house/tribal techno track which was played by Guy Ornadel at the Republic of Gatecrasher and it sounds to be in a similar kind of style to DJ Nukem/Chab tunes. Maybe circa 2001ish. Unfortunately, no joy from Guy and DJ Nukem has confirmed that it is not his production. There is a vocal sample at around 3.56 which I am told sounds like "against the grain"....it definitely says something but uncertain as to what.

Hoping some of the people with expert knowledge on all things techno may be able to help?  The tune is listed below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHWJucdntfU (muttered vocal can be found at 3.56)

And a shorter clip with just the break is listed underneath:

Any help in this area would be much appreciated :)

  6.

Just looking at one of the montage videos of select tunes from that eventful night. I am trying to establish whether the first two tunes in this video which are Joonas Hahmo - Together and Cosmic Gate - Body Of Conflict (Cosmic Gate Club Mix) were played by Filo & Peri or Matt Hardwick? The lineup for the main room at Magna on that night was as follows:

    Filo & Peri
    Matt Hardwick
    Paul Van Dyk
    Judge Jules
    John 00 Fleming

  7. I see no footage of Jules or Bondy online from the classics room :( All I've read is that they each played for 75 minutes and these are some of the tracks they played:

    Scott Bond

Adagio into Skip Raiders - Just Another Day

Planet Perfecto - Bullet In The Gun (Saturday Mix)

Balearic Bill - Destination Sunshine (DJ Tiesto Remix)

    V-One - Dead Cities

Rank 1 - Airwave (Adam White Intro Edit)

    Judge Jules

    Safri-Duo - Played-a-Live (The Bongo Song)

DJ Elite - That Fuct Camera

Brainchild - Symmetry C (Mike Koglin Remix)

    Hi-Gate - Caned and Unable

    Delirium - Silence (Tiesto Remix)

    Cosmic Gate - Firewire

  8. Two sets from 1997 recorded at the Jailhouse Elgin. The first part is Scott Bond DJing solo and the second part is B2B with the late Tom Bouthier (of Tom & Jerry). Both were part of DMC at the time. Any assistance with the missing tracks on the second B2B would be most appreciated - they are a mixture of house and trance.

It honestly sounds like a lange or above and beyond or maybe even PVD bootleg. The lyrics are from ZZ Tops 'give me all your lovin'. I doubt its  Gimme All Your Lovin' 2000 (Encounters Space Chase Dub) since everything else about that track (every other version i've heard) is very housey. Shame, as its such a banger.

Above & Beyond weren't even around in 1998 and highly doubt PVD would give Jules a bootleg of his when he was notorious for championing his own tracks. Could be possibly Lange......
