  1. Right, i've had enough of Audacity and its "Sorry, Audacity has stopped working" messages (thus resulting in my losing my mix. I want to use different software now. It's just way too temperamental for me to use. What recording software does everyone on here use? Can anyone recommend me some? I'm only going to be recording my mixes with it, so it doesnt really matter how basic it is.
  2. KSheehan, its easy to setup, you get everything you need. Duo is basically a scaled down version of Pro. The sound card is the same only less inputs/outputs. You still get all the beatgridding/looping/some effects etc. Once you get started, and learn it, you will love it, believe me. DVS systems, are the way forward. People hate on them, but they've never used them...
  3. I currently have 3 to check out at the moment. I was impressed by the one i received, and as stated, i went out and bought the Matt Darey tune that was on it! Oh Aza, yes i do 8 bar cuts, i like mixing to be nice and neat And yeah, i used Traktor Scratch Pro. There was a small bit of looping going on, its why i think DVS systems are the way forward, there are no boundaries anymore!
  4. 7digital are very good. For my pop tunes i use them for sure, its way better than iTunes. I snagged the Taoi Cruz, Timbaland, M.I.A albums off there recently....nice prices too.
  5. yes, so am i! It's held up the delivery of my copy of Reason until Monday!
  6. sorry but ,,,,, something new would be nice! Back to the Taio Cruz album it is then...
  7. that picture is of the UK is epic! I'd love to know when we last had a winter this cold. This must be up there as one of the coldest i can remember.
  8. i originally did an alternative house/electro/dubstep/hip hop one. But didnt want to use it to save confusion! I might upload it though at some point.
  9. In my opinion, Vestax make some of the best mixers out there for sound quality. Obviously behind the likes of Urei and Allen & Heath....but fr the price you cant go wrong...
  10. oh no, if its got a pulse, Calum Best will have a crack at it.
  11. theres a three channel Vestax PMC 275 (i think) thats really good. Crisp sound quality. I used to have one before i spilt beer over it. I now have a Gemini 626 as it was supposed to be a quic, cheap replacement, but id serisouly go with the Vestax. They use it in the Radio 1 studios aswell, if im not mistaken...
  12. It was the only mp3 i had on my phone! we had to play something in the car at work! Though i secretly do love the tune and the album!
  13. in 10 years time, there'll be the new breed of clubber saying the exact same thing about Justice, Deadmau5 etc etc. I actually enjoyed the broadcast - well from the small samples i was listening to whilst at work anyway.
  14. i think it just shows how much the club scene has changed. Gone are the days of superstar dj's. Nowadays most dj's play a wide variety, not just one genre. Trance now, is very much a late 90's sound also, it hasn't really evolved much over the last 6 years or so, and it certainly hasnt kept up with trends. You only have to look at the top 5 voted for essential mixes this year to see this...
  15. The Posh is Peterborough United's nickname. It derives from an old managerial comment from something like the 1930's (i think) and it kinda stuck. I do remember Victoria Beckham trying to sue the club for a some sort of infringement about 12 years ago. The nickname, of course, couldn't be any further from the truth,as anyone who has been to Peterborough will tell you, its a run down dump with a pitiful excuse for a shopping centre. Your chances of being robbed or assaulted here are very high and everyone says "init" , "blud" or "brap" at the end of every phrase.
  16. i remember seeing Derby right at the start of the season when they beat us, quite convincingly too. They looked good, back then i thought they'd be a top 6 side quite easily....
  17. so, did anyone see the Posh game today? I nearly had two heart attacks listening to it on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire. I've never felt so down about my team and never so happy in one game - the draw against Cardiff felt like a win! We might still be going down (we're not winning enough and conceding far too many) but we're not going to make London Road an easy place to come and get three points. This is the great thing about the CCC, you still get shock results and upsets. Cardiff won't be going up, 2 games against the bottom 2 clubs, and a point to show for it(and conceding a 4-0 lead , they look suspect. My money is on Newcastle, and Forest for the automatics; Forest look unstoppable at the moment, and Leicester via the playoffs. For the drop, well, we are going down, we keep drawing too many, and not winning enough, our defence needs sorting out urgently, Scunthorpe and Sheffield Wednesday. One of those teams may survive, we are yet to have our "streak"of a few wins on the bounce, surely thats gotta happen sooner or later, and it could be our saviour.

I have decided to opt for this also. I've done about months research into who uses it and what tracks are made with it. I realise its not the software, its how you use it, but i really like the layout and idea of Reason. I'll be purchasing it with the refills in the new year. It's not just dance producers using Reason either. I am looking forward to getting stuck into it.
  19. its nots a bad show this one. It doesnt seem to flow very well though, it's very housey. Everything seems very "crammed in". Good tracks tho Cheers cheers Simcut
  20. ooh this looks good, the saturday shows were what i was bought up on in terms of style. Starting housey and ending in trance....
  21. Downloaded mine, listening to it now, its pretty good too! Exactly my style (i contemplated putting 3 of the tunes on this mix in my own). A big thanks to Aza for arranging it all and taking it on - Nice one brother! Happy x-mas everyone.

yeah i got that email, no idea why though. It'd be nice for most of the mp3 shops to close down, then labels can start putting out vinyl again!
