  1. truly awful sound if you ask me. 1. load up pc/mac 2. input music catalogue 3. hit random button 4. save utter trash. must have taken all of 5 minutes.
  2. Apologies if a repost but in my nostalgic moments on youtube last night I discovered this which blew my mind!! This has prompted 2 questions....... 1. whats the best old & forgotton trance tune you have found on youtube. Lets make this a youtube music thread! I'll open the batting with Quench - Dreams. I found myself there via that all time classic (that I still have on vinyl somewhere) Lost Tribe - Gamemaster. 2. second question...did all the old classics start out on a keyboard/ midi controller like featured on the cafe del mar video above. In my naivity 20 years ago I assumed most of the sounds that were used came off a looping vinyl (or were ripped off). The old tunes have a warmth and feeling about them you just dont get any more which makes me wonder what level of actual musicality went into them vs the computer trance we often hear on the radio today (this might be a slightly unfair/controversial statement I know).
  3. got it fella..thanks to this website! jules essential mix at bournemouth in '98. the way he brings in "serious danger - deeper" is unbelievable!! jules was often critised for being commercial wasn't he but the fact is he got his hands on all the promos way before everyone else.
  4. Hi everyone - firstly can I say what an amazing website!!!! I had the unfortunate mishap of recently losing my favourite ever mixtape by Jules @ the BIC in '98. I was there. I lost my only digital copy recently through a dead hard drive and hence me ending up here and finding a whole bunch of people with the same interests. I used to DJ through 97-2002 whilst studying in bournemouth and my old vinyl is tucked up safely in the attic. I am debating buying a USB deck and transferring the lot to Mp3. Hopefully I can help and join in the discussions about some of the old classics, its sad that they definitely do NOT make em like they used to anymore. Kristian
