  1. Going out to the local for this shortly, not too excited by it to be honest, i reckon us to lose 2-0
  2. Should be a wicked night tomorrow, looking forward to meeting mr Ball at long last & also to playing a nice peak time prog set
  3. The new Remix is by Manuel le Saux. Original was one of the first ever releases on ASOT about 3/4 years ago, my personal favourite version is the DJ Danjo & Rob Styles remix that appeared as the b-side to the 2004 remixes of 'Second Wave'
  4. The new Lange pres. Firewall track is fantastic, some other nice stuff in there aswell, may listen again later
  5. The FA plan to probe the moves for Nani & Anderson as they fear the deals could be similar to the Carlos Tevez situation

Not sure I can really help to be honest mate, never really experienced those problems before. I just use the Start menu anyway, using the shortcut key tabs you can open up anything very quickly
  7. Hard Dub will never be eclipsed, but this track has much more of a cross over appeal for me, sounds like it could definately work at the tail end of a nice proggy set
  8. Just stumbled across this new(ish) remix on CDJShop, have to say it sounds might impressive, nice take on the Original. Not in the same league as the KvA Hard Dub, which stands as one of the best tracks of '04 but a nice little update, might bag this one for Saturday Samples on AJ & every other download store I imagine as I'm late on this, anyone else feelin it?
  9. I remember that OBW being cancelled, that was when they did a full Saturday for DJs only wasn't it? I remember a downcast Jules sittin backstage bored out of his mind tryin to present a few guest mixes, was a decent show actually It's a sign of how much R1 has shifted focus now that DJs have very little exposure at these festivals, I remember the one in Birmingham about 2 yrs ago which Tiesto headlined & there was a massive full day long lineup of DJs, now there are a handful thrown together between pop bands
  10. Sheridan was playing the set prior to Bond who was down to close, Sheridan just carried on playing a double length set. At the end of the day 'Crasher can only blame themselves, they book SSS then book PvD to do a 6hr set back in Sheffield! It's a bit of a joke really. I am tempted by the second PvD 6hr set in September
  11. People who are getting into dance music now don't seem to get into things the same way, they listen to the commercial pap played on mainstream radio & the worst channel in the world MTV Dance & simply follow up artists such as Cascada (have I got that right) & all these god awful Clubland compilations. The more underground sound of dance music right now is very healthy probably due to the fact that the commercial dance music market is veru saturated. For example 'Black Is The Colour' would have been a monster hit about 5 or 6 years ago easily going top ten, but despite all of the whoring that Anjuna did in tryin to get it played on radio & commercial avenues it got nowhere & they were forced to release it a couple of weeks back. This was probably due to the fact that this sort of music doesn't appeal to the masses that much anymore as they are quite happy with their dance remixes of sh*t RnB etc
  12. Got some assignments to be handed in Monday, then I'll just have my dissertation to complete, hopefully be finished if all goes well by the end of June
  13. That really is shockingly bad for a festival
  14. Scott Bond's wife went into labour, hence the no show, fair enough really. I've always rated Matt Hardwick, everytime I've seen him play he's been excellent, the only slight gripe is lately he seems to play a little too much Discover sounding stuff but he's still a class DJ imo

    Hey Tom....

I was very pleased with yesterdays result
  16. They've signed two Jaytech tracks haven't they? Thought that was why they were on Vol 5?
  17. Thoroughly enjoyed myself last night, was a cool little venue right on one of Birmingham's busiest shopping streets. New Street with a nice friendly crowd & some cool new people top night  Kicked things off on the wrong foot, got to the train station only to see our 7.30 train departing just as we pulled up, meant a full half hour wait in the less than inviting setting of Tipton trainstation with the company of some erm how should this be put 'rowdy youths' ? Got the 8pm train to Birmingham, conveiniantly the train station is about a 2 minute walk from the venue. Got there around 8.30 for a few drinks with promoter Robbie & his girl Nicky. After a few beers & a good chat we got things setup ready for opening, the setup was cool 2 x Pioneer CDJ1000 mkIII, 2x 1210 MkII (though there were no needles!) & a Allen & Heath XOne 92 mixer (my first time using one, nice crisp sound but gimme a Pioneer anyday  ) Kicked off with some nice chunky progressive house type tunage (second track in I was told to watch the bass as the speakers were in danger haha). After playing some deeper tracks I moved thru to some housey type fare before kicking it on for Matt Kirkland who played after me to play his melodic, pumping trance from the off. The set went down well & i got some glowing feedback from everyone, Robbie managed to record the sets so hopefully I can post it up for you soon to have a gander Matt took over from me at just after 10.30 playing some fantastic tracks, the Jon O'Bir Remix of 'Louder' was a particular high point, wicked set mate  My playlist from the night is below & hopefully I'll get a link to the set soon... Playlist... 01 - Remy 'Scrap' [68] 02 - Envotion 'Down There' (Perry O'Neil Remix) [Deep]] 03 - Rocco Mundo & Onno 'Classified Insanity' [Little Mountain] 04 - Interstate 'I Found You' (Perry O'Neil Remix) [Electronic Elements] 05 - Rachael Starr 'Till There Was You' (Gabriel & Dresden Remix) [spinnin] 06 - Matthew Dekay 'Timeless' (Digifruitella Dub) [Electronic Elements] 07 - Rocco Mundo & Onno 'Insanity Defense' [Little Mountain] 08 - Sultan & Ned Shepard 'Together We Rise' [shinichi] 09 - Markus Schossow & Thomas Segstad 'Moog Me' [Global Underground] 10 - Mode Hookers vs D:Fuse ft. Oceanlab & Armin 'Re:Living The Dream' (Macarius Bootleg) [CD-R] 11 - Emjae 'Necromancer' (Probspot Dub) [Curvve] 12 - Santerna 'Either Way' (DC Project Remix) [RealMusic] 13 - Markus Schulz vs Chakra 'I Am' [Coldharbour] 14 - Oliver Smith 'Tomahawk' [Anjuna Beats] 15 - Rex Mundi 'Perspective' [Global Underground/Cyber] Was also great to meet up with Dave, Nicky, Rachael, Nath, Marc, Jo, Mario, Nav, Becky, Rob, Greg, Matt and everyone else I spoke to. I'll hopefully be back at Inertia soon
  18. Listened to one of Jules' other broadcasts on 2fm via Sky Digital, will check this out aswell
  19. I'm not tryin to sound too cool for school here but I really do despise each of those tracks listed. The only one that has anything about it, imo of course, was Exceeder & even that was massively over-rated
  20. This is on AJ now, along with Aly & Fila Remix
  21. Doesn't particularly excite me to be honest, there are some good tracks on there & some that really have no place on an Ibiza '07 compilation. I've said to a few people that it's just been released way too early, hardly any of the big summer tracks have been released yet
