But that's what I don't understand. What is your definition of a DJ doing well? Considering all that Jules is up to these days, I would personally see that as doing very well considering that he is not exactly one of the younger DJs out there these days! And also, if Jules had lost his pulling power at the big events such as GC etc., why is he still getting booked for them? At the end of the day, as much as I loved Jules' sets "back in the day" (as they say), you've got to adapt and change as time goes on. The target audience in clubs is the 18-25 age group and I think that Jules has done very well to keep up with the times!

Does Jules though actually have to do something about it? At the end of the day, he's still getting the gigs, filling the dancefloors and retains his weekly show on Radio One. Perhaps it's just a case of the die-hard fans getting older and perhaps being stuck in the past. Jules has moved along with the times and seems to remain as enthusiastic as ever which can't be easy for someone who has been in the business for over 20 years!

Afraid I can't really help with any software tips Simon as I actually do my show from a radio studio using a mixing desk etc.. Would it maybe be possible to do your vocal links at the same time as doing your mix? You could put a microphone into your DJ mixer and a line out from the mixer to your computer so you could record both the music and vocal stuff at the same time. This would also allow you to adjust the music levels to suit whilst you talk. I once used Audacity to put some vocal links over a mix but I had to put them over quiet bits or breakdowns in the music as they were inaudible when the music was in full flow!

Eddie Halliwell appears to have left Radio 1 with immediate effect! Kutski done his show last night and there is no reference to Eddie now in the dance section of the R1 website. In fact if you try and go to Eddie's page, it just goes straight to the dance page!

Ah c'mon! You really think he is Anti-English?!?! The comment that originally started all these wild accusations was a joke that he made about supporting anyone that England plays in the 2006 World Cup. This was made when he was doing a joint-interview with Tim Henman and they were having a bit of banter about it. Tim also made a joke about Scotland not being there but that doesn't mean he is anti-Scottish! Anyway, his girlfriend's English, his gran is English, some of his coaching team are English plus he has a flat in London. It's just a shame that some people still seem to hold this 'anti-english' thing against him when it's clearly not true!

LOL, absolute nonsense!! Being a competitive Tennis player myself, I've followed Murray's career since he won the US Open Juniors in 2004 and he has always had the same accent. And I can safely say as much as he is proud to be British, he does not want to be English!

To be honest, there is no sinister reason behind it. In Tennis, all players from Scotland, England, Wales & Northern Ireland come under GBR.

Such sad news. Barry was a very talented DJ and performed an excellent guest mix for my show almost a year ago at the start of May. I also thoroughly enjoyed his Essential mix on BBC Radio 1 last week. My deepest condolences go out to Barry's fiancee & family.

Ah yes the old Murano tunes!! I was a big fan of his remixes of Snap vs Plaything, Dark Monks and VPL as well. He really did produce some quality tracks!!
