  1. Its a device which allows you to play tracks from your PC/Mac wirelessly. It sync's upto itunes playlists etc and simply requires the device to be plugged in at your hifi. These are the basic blurbs... Logitechs' Squeezebox is a fantastic network music player that transmits all the digital music stored on your PC to your stereo - through Wi-Fi or cables! Easy to set up and use, this powerful, well-thought device produces high-quality audio, without any skipping or delay. Its large, elegant display shows track titles, artists and menus: you can browse by genre, artist or playlist, or randomly mix your music. The Squeezebox also gives you access to a practically limitless number of Internet radios, even when your PC is switched off. The Squeezebox Duet, the new device allows you to access artwork too and is really nifty... http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/182313/logi...zebox-duet.html
  2. Love it!!! Makes life so much easier. One occasionally needs to edit the start of some tracks but only infrequently. I find that keeping a CD/12" free life is a lot easier to deal with especially with the numbers of digital promos outweighing physical ones. I've also got a Squeezebox which is connected to my lounge hi-fi and the last time I burned a CD was ages ago!

  4. Number 2 - save the stale bread and put it in a blender... blended stale bread works wonders in home made meatballs, beef burgers and sausages!
  5. Travel is good, Simon and what better place to start your clubbing career and travel exploits than Trance Energy!?!?
  6. See y'all at the Future Stage for Patterson's set... we could perhaps arrange a meet up somewhere the next day for a late lunch or something for those who are going. Trance Energy is simply immense!!!
  7. Really hope that the bootleg scene dies down a bit (well a lot) in 2009 so original music can have a fighting chance to make an impression. Bootlegs on the whole aren't a positive influence on dance music when they're poorly put together.
  8. Oh, I also forgot to mention to watch your alcohol, caffeine and processed foods intake too. If you insist on drinking caffeine, opt for green tea as the caffeine release is much smoother than that of black tea and coffee. Personally I'd not drink alcohol at all right now because of the effects it has, plus it really doesn't help sleep and the body's ability to self-heal!
  9. Firstly I'd see your GP as they might want to refer you to a psychiatrist for a full diagnosis if there appears to be a history of depression with yourself and your family. Usually you would be prescribed medication and then a full term care plan would be written which might include regular sessions with a CPN (a psychiatric nurse), regular meetings with your psychiatrist to asses the efficacy of any medication you're taking and make any adjustments etc. You might also want to discuss talking therapies which can include one on one psychotherapy or a group psychotherapy approach. Both are very good and benefit any medication you may be prescribed. Do not worry, you're not on your own with this and if you have to spend time in hospital, don't view it as a weakness. It's just a time for you to become stronger. Unfortunately prescribing medication for depression and other mental health conditions is not an exact science so it might take a while to find something that suits you at a dose with therapeutic effects. Stick with it though! The most common side effect with all these sorts of medicines is sedation, which under the current circumstances, would perhaps be a good thing. You will get used to feeling a bit 'out of it' but keep up with a good diet and take regular exercise. A 20 min brisk walk daily and a balanced diet (including a vit b complex supplement) will do wonders. Depression is a difficult thing to deal with but you have to try to keep things in perspective and remember the times when you didn't feel depressed. Use the time to get to know yourself better and if you don't like something, start to make small changes to deal with the things you don't like. Do it in a calm and controlled way. The more things you can do in a controlled fashion, the easier it will be to regain some of the control that you feel is currently not there. Try to remain sociable and give yourself a treat every time you've been out and felt ok about things. It might be an idea to do something that will boost your confidence such as taking a night class in something... personal development is an excellent way to feel good about yourself!!! Lastly, good luck dude. You're not alone and there is a light... you should feel proud of yourself that you can discuss what you have done. It's the first step to wellness!!! Peace to you bro!
  10. My god... haven't seen a pic of Ms Birch in years! I remember meeting her once at the fruition of her career and I can't recall her being so 'engineered'. I'm guessing she wanted to go down the lads..ahem... mag route too. Agree with Tim about the moody look not looking particularly moody. She looks as if she's got gas.
  11. ^ proof that botox doesn't always do a good job...
  12. We essentially just need the 'heat magazine' culture to end. It'd also be good if R1 stopped trying to sound like a commercial radio station without adverts for their daytime shows. Much prefer the likes of Kents KMFM, Radio 2 or Classic FM thesedays. I agree that this year's winner's song is awful, but, they don't know until the last moment who will win therefore they choose a song that any of the 12 finalists could record. It's a shame they can't say to the public that in 2 weeks, a bespoke and original record will be released. They'd never do that though because of the hype surrounding the winner and competition in general. The show is a good example of capitalism, ego and hype.
  13. its a pretty good mix really... it's perfect for CV interval training. there's actually a company who specialize in music to work out to so perhaps Jules is getting in on the action there. think it might be one of the ex-serious dudes behind the company.
  14. Paul, they'll master whatever version they have of the track before mixing it in pro tools. They don't need a label master.
  15. I always liked the sound of the perspex blocks during these tasks. Good show - glad its back! Surely its time to revive Jim'll too.
