Amazing!  Good to hear there are still popping tapes up with Jules! :D

Do you have an idea of which period they were recorded?

Also, please do create mp3 files in 192kbps or higher as 128kbps sounds horrible. There are more subtleties in an old cassette recording than one might think :)

Holla if you need advice on the digitizing process.

yes, there is no point in uploading  a horrible sounding low fi version !!

we are going to buy a high quality cassette player, and transfer to digital using either a Focusrite or a Native instruments ADAC  ..

I have a Focusrite , likely we will use the N.I because for this purpose it is more convenient .. :D

  2. Happy to say , lost and found !!!  :D

wahey !! it  finally TURNED UP !!  on a cassette tape  , alongside Push electric eclipse ,  you know , the really shit hot version , that was never released and was only played on the Judges show on Radio 1 !!

my bro found it  … buried in a pile of cassettes ,  we R gonna deffo transfer it to digital and upload it to this site … !! RESPECT Bro !!!

I haven't heard it yet, but I am told it is every bit as good as I remember !!

cant wait to hear it ..

bTw : my bro shazam it , no recognition  .. so it is unheard of  … probably only played once on the judges show .. a genuine obscure white label !

I will upload it here in the next few weeks  , just got to buy a decent tape player ..

thanks everyone for help in trying to track it down :D!

"it was straight up synth trance , no vocal .. sounded a bit like Darren tate"...

Hmm, it's not the Infernal track then. I got that whitelabel and it definitely has vocals.

I just discovered a genuine big box full !!  ; loads and loads of classic Judge Jules cassette tapes ..!

some are damaged ..  but some are salvable ...

I recorded every Friday night for a few years !

I will try and find a way to digitise them and upload them to your excellent channel ;))

Did you contact Darren Tate????? If he doesn't respond, try again. Yes, these guys are busy but at the same time so is everyone! The least you'll get is "I don't ever recall doing a track called "Sunrise"".

Also look at old radio one web pages on the "internet archive". You never know, you may find the tracklist of this show.

yes, believe me , I have searched exhaustively to the finest detail ! ... but I like your idea about contacting Darren Tate directly ...

this is the absolute last throw of the dice ....

I will do it ... and I will report back if a positive outcome  .... nice one ;)))

thanks fuzzy logic ( for all your help ..) ! much appreciated my friend ..

I am not giving up !! .. but I am temporarily resting the hunt for this elusive gem of a trance track ..

(personally, I DO think it was a ludicrously rare Darren Tate white label ... transmitted only once on BBC Radio 1 .. )

    who knows ??

Ill deffo  keep looking ... again, thanks for everyone on this great forums generous help ... :D

  7. L.V & M.I.K.E of course .. BUT I really liked your comment about F&W  !!

Really glad to hear that someone else is appreciating their unique sounds, circa early noughties  !!

as you say they had lots of production guises ..

I remember them with lots of affection ...

aside from MIKE, probably my favourite trance outfit ever !

    out of Denmark  ..

I lost track of them and have been searching for info ever since .. I know they split and Fredriksson.. and Weile went separate ways ..

    I miss them , a lot !

( if U have ANY info about them .. give me an e mail !!  I would love it , thanks .. )

Totally agree with you on that one Neuro! B)

I reckon that Laurent Veronnez is probably the number one producer since the 1999 era who took trance to a new level. His tunes were all consistantly excellent & they all had that typical Bonzai sound at the time. I remember at one point (around 2002-03) my record box was about 90% full of LV's/Bonzai style tunes. I rest my case, your honour...

    Also, I'm going to select...

    F&W / DJ Choose (Denmark)

These guys have supplied countless productions & remixes with their unique banging/euphoric tech-trance style and unmistakable sound. Their consistency (especially around 2003-04) was second to none & their tunes filled the playlists of many big name trance DJs. Other names they recorded under include Perfect 10, Tukan, That Mucho, ATN, and more. :)

thanks FuzzY-LogiC .. yes, you are entirely correct,  it is not Infernal !

Listen , thanks to EVERYONE for ALL your totally awesome help .. sadly I have still not found this incredibly rare & curiously elusive trance track  ..

but i really just want to say thank you to everyone who has suggested a track !

I may not have found this particular track,  but the fact that so many awesome people on this forum have helped me search for it is  .. well, that is so very TranZy & ultra cool !

    Thank U everyone !

I will keep checking back in case anyone has discovered a hiodden audio tape  ;)))

Please don't go throwing anything away until you are sure we have it!! We can digitize any of your tapes and upload them to the archives in your name - just get in touch :)

absolutely too right ! .. don't throw anything away ! .. I am currently 'drying out' many, many tapes of judge jules  .. ( they were stored in a damp outhouse) ... I am reasonably confident i can get them in working order and tranfer to mp3 ..  i will share on ;) JJ

btw thanks Fuzzy Logic , this is a seriously, very wicked mix !

    What about this ?

Slusnik Luna – Sun (Original Mix) was on White Label then

    Or even this one?

Slusknik Luna ' Sun'  is one of the all time trance greats !

sadly, it is not any of the tracks listed above , but most sincerely , thanks for all your help !

( I am still amazed it is so rare and obscure !) I cant belive it ! it sounded amazing !

good news is I just found a few old Judge Jules audio cassette recordings i made at the time  , so i am gonna go through them and see if i can find it ! .. of course, if i do find it , i will tranfer to MP3 & post it right here, immediately !

.. RESPECT everyone ! keep on trancing ;))

& thanks for all your help ;)

  12. Did it have a vocal, was it uplifting or dark?

Are you sure it was not a remix with sunrise in the title (Dj Tiestos in search of sunrise mix) as an example?

sorry for the delay in replying ..

it was defiantely described by the Judge as a ' white label' ...

& no, it was definately not Tiesto's In search of sunrise ' .. although this is a amazingly good track (!) & it did not have a vocal and it was not dark ..  quite the opposite in fact !!

it was a melodic uplifting insrtumental trancer ..;))

.... it sounded very much like a Darren Tate track .. I would not be surprised if it was him .. but there is no record of him doing a track called 'Sunrise'  ..

I am intrigued by what you said about 3 fingers .. do you have a copy of this ?? I would love to hear it again ..

and yes, it was definately played by the Judge after the 3 fingers mix of BT;s  Flaming June .. circa 2000/1 +

also, thanks for your help .. !! totally awesome ..;))))

  13. Couple more possibilities:

G&M Project - Feeling The Sunrise

DJ Ittybitty Vs. DJ Stabak‎– Sunrise

thanks for your suggestions .. I listened to them both ( and I am now sounding like a stuck Judge Jules record !! hah hah) but unfortunately neither of these were the track I remember .. (but totally love the quirky old skool 'DJ Ittybitty Vs. DJ Stabak‎– Sunrise' !!) very cool track .. ;))

.. also, very cool that there is a forum of like minded people ..

well , if nothing else I am becoming a bit of an expert on massive trancers called 'sunrise' !! .. and that's pretty cool !

... but seriously I would very much like to identify this obscure and mythical track .. all suggestions very gratefully received ;))

  14. sadly no ! but nonetheless, some nice tracks !! thanks for your assistance in THE Quest !

.. this was a stripped down trance number .. no vocal ..

it was a bare bones trance track .. but extremely melodic .. no vocals , but extremely uplifting, also I think, a classic Nord bass line ! .

I heard it during the autumn of 2001 (ish) .. on the Judges radio show , almost certainly his Saturday show, almost certainy before or after the '3 fingers' remix of Flaming June by BT .. & described by the Judge as a white label called ' Sunrise' ..it wasn't on a Friday, because I was an AVID listener to his Friday night show and I would certainly remember it if it was on Friday night..)))

all comments suggestions, very gratefully received ..

  15. Aye - never give up indeed! I knew of a White Label that never got released. Managed to get hold of a tape cut of it 5 years ago.. stuck it on youtube, Oakenfold reposted, producer of the track got in touch with me & one thing lead to another ... as of this year the track got released on CD on DAT Recordings!!

yeah , that's definitely pretty cool .. nice one ;))

  16. Possibly a track that a. Never got a release or b. Was renamed after that first airing. That tended to happen a bit back then. Good luck in your ongoing search.

yes, that is a worrying possibility :ermm: .. but I will not stop looking, and thanks for your good wishes .. !!

Again folks: Track : 'Sunrise' described by the Judge as a white label , broadcast on BBC Radio 1, I think about 2000/2001 ( I think it was in the autumn, (broadcast if I remember correctly. alongside the '3 Fingers' remix of Flaming June by BT) on the Judges Saturday show ) , it was straight up synth trance , no vocal .. sounded a bit like Darren tate !

If any one has any clue as to the identity of this incredibly elusive track, please let me know ! thanks guys !

    (I am on a mission ! LOL)
