In all the years listening to Jules he would always, without fail play at least one dodgy tune that would make me cringe - I just came to expect it. 7
Always remember him being the first to support Tocas Miracle which ruined a perfectly good tune at the time!
Anyone seeing Oakie 99-00 (cream courtyard anybody?) would appreciate him back then. Still heard some great sets during the next few years afterwards though - although did get spoiled through by his U2/rock influences sometimes!
Thats quality, I used to get all the one I wanted from a website called freshly mixed (no link!) You could pay $5 for a month and download as many as you liked.
Glad someone also appreciates Supernova!!
My list off the top of my head (Will probably remember others later)
Mauro Picotto - Lizard
DJ Elite - That Fuct Camera
Transa - Supernova
Plastic Boy - Silver Bath
Sequenza - Sequenza
Push - Universal Nation
Crazy Malamute - Free to Ride
Binary Finary - 1998/1999
Xcabs - Neuro '99
Digger - Episode 1 Church of Ra
17. Unknown - 'Unknown' [white label]
Track 17 is called More Bounce, by Four (Could be For, Four or Fore) Jules actually says it at the end of the tune.
Im sure the trouble when Sandstorm comes on is because the decks got wet as it p***ed it down that day! I dont think its because of the version you have just how it was live.
No 10. is - GD - 'Choral Reef'
No 19. is - Digger - 'Episode 1 (Church of Ra)
I think No 22. is a remix of Moonman - Dont be afraid (I dont think its the 99' mix)
I did use htfr, chemical etc,
I also spent ages trying to find out what Mr Spring - 'Profondo Rosso' was called as I absolutely love it, I was never ever going to find it with that title!!!! I didnt find actually that out until I came on here.
How strange - I had that on in the car on the way to work this morning! Although its not one of my favorate ones though.
Currently listening to Late night lessons tour from Portsmouth Uni 99 which has just been uploaded to the site.
Its great to finally have this on mp3, my tape of this was on its very last legs (worn out after 8 yrs of playing)!
In my top 3 of all time Jules sets, the overall style of the tracks at the time and the atmosphere definately made this a classic for me.
I have uploaded PVD essential mix live from Home, London from April 2000. It really is one absolutely brilliant Emix (Although quite fast even for me!)
