Yes, I've got a couple of XFades from them. One has a Jules front cover. I'm reasonably sure I uploaded this to your FTP some time ago Fuzzy?
Yes, you are indeed right! Your Feb 2000 issue of Xfade is already in the gallery: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/gallery/

This thread on Discogs seems interesting....
It would be interesting to look at old Jockey Slut and Xfade issues in regards of Jules related articles.... anyone got some of those from around 99-00?

I can't believe I'd forgotten what a huge tune this was. Going to have to rip the vinyl later. If you wish to be fastidious on the TL I'd change this to:
10. Cevin Fisher feat. Loleatta Holloway – 'Burning Up' (Queen St. Orchestra Vocal Mix) [Wonderboy]
Cheers Doc, I've added it to the track list
-
Sorry to bump this old thread, but the track is not Lectrolux...
I wonder if it's something Jules did himself... pretty basic tune with what sounds like a movie sample.

Great set this. Track 21 is definable an emergency choice with Energy 52 supposed to be the end of the set.
Indeed... Good to see Jules supporting Danish trance this early though... it's a great track, though never commercially released

My apologies Gregsta! I read the URL oldschooltapes as oldschoolanthems!
I'll put you as submitter of course!
Sorry about my confusion...

simultaneously I do regret I will probably never be able to listen Julesy´s last ever regular show on KISS 100. It must have been emotional!
Don't be too sure about that... I am amazed by the audio that still surfaces every now and then!
I know there can be some very dry periods and dare I say it, I have some audio that is not uploaded yet... It's coming, just very slowly as I dig through my many old harddrives (backing up and sorting).
I am still feeling hopeful for more Kiss recordings as I too would love to hear more from that Jules era! :)
-
Audio now losslessly edited so the two sides are in correct order, thanks for spotting that Doc!
@Gregsta Thanks for the submission, though I see the file originates from OSA and is Jigsaw's own recording.
Please do let us know who originally did the recording if possible, as we want to make sure the right person get credited!
-
Thanks to MrG, the show is now complete!
Full 2 hours of energetic Jules on the 1's and twos from the Golden age!! (excuse the pun!) ;-)

Sorry to bring up an old thread. I was there and sure he had two versions of sandstorm playing and looping the break. Or am I confusing this event with another?
No worries!
The set you're mentioning is Jules' set at Homelands the same year: 2000-05-27 - Judge Jules, Homelands, Winchester
Grab it here: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/topic/4745-2000-05-27-judge-jules-homelands-winchester/
The recording sounds a bit weird around the 'Sandstorm' juggle as it sounds like one of the turntables only comes properly out of the right and the other comes out of both left and right.
However the microphone and jingle audio comes out of both channels as well, so... it sounds like they fixed it after "you gotta believe".

I've tried to do a focused Google search for any information about magazines with BBC listings other than Seven and Mixmag.... no luck.
I tried to widen the search to simply "clubbing/DJ/Radio" oriented magazines from the UK and it seems there is a few I haven't heard about which could be interesting to dive into.

This thread on Discogs seems interesting....

hmm, good question where that was from.
It seems Jules put his name to some Loopmasters sample packs... perhaps he also did a tutorial on using them?
-
Thanks for the audio Liz!
Tracklist updated with versions and remixes
-
Cheers Liz!
Adding it to the audio archive in a bit.
btw. track 30 is Limited Growth - No Fate (Santini & Stephenson Remix) ;-)
-
Very interesting, I wasn't aware Jules' TL's was printed in other mags than Mixmag. Good stuff Burien!
Also good to hear there is more audio coming from new members!
-
@blakeface Nice1, always interesting to hear from someone who was in the game back then and knows stuff.
I am still waiting for someone to point to that specific Ry Cooder track on the Paris Texas soundtrack where they think this is from...
I am not saying it can't be a sample... actually I am not 100% convinced it isn't a real sample.
I know people have been shooting the idea down for a while because several individuals have listened and said it's a synthesized sound, but to be honest, no-one knows for sure.
@Burien that Milk Inc. track is indeed interesting IMO, though I do personally think it's a coincidence.
The plot thickens and the hunt continues...

To follow up on my previous post, I've known about this for a while thanks to the producer of it. So why would anyone else now need to attemtp to remake it when THIS remake is perfect.
Agreed. This is as close to the original as it gets

05. Afrowax – English 101 (FR8 Mix) [Respect!]This doesn't sound 100% like the FR8 Mix...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpmgNmLS2nEThe scratching/cue'ing in the break sounds different.Scratch that (no pun intended!)... it's the difference between the first and second breakdown!
It IS the FR8 mix.

13. Afrowax - 'English 101' (Unknown Mix) [Respect!]
I believe this is the FR8 Mix...

Track 13, by Groove Asylum. The correct title is;
The Groove Asylum - Brazil (Original Mix) (Don't Recordings)
And boy does it build the tension before he finally drops Fly Away after an hour of hard dance for the place to erupt!
You can say that again!!
btw, the Brazil track can be bought on Bandcamp of all places

Cheers for this, also the scan!!
Jules set is now correctly added to the archive: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/topic/3891-1997-xx-xx-judge-jules-sex-1244-mixtape/

@Burien, I don't think track 9 is Space Raiders... None of the mixes sounds like the track Jules played.
Havana Goodtime Mix (by Groove Armada): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM96yGek3pc&ab_channel=SpaceRaiders-Topic
Legwarmer Remix (by Clockwork Voodoo Freaks): https://soundcloud.com/red-dead-johnny/12-space-raiders-i-need-the
Jules names it "Mr. Icky - Disco Doctor", but that doesn't point to anything I can find in any combination of Doktor, doctor, disco, disko... Icky, iggy...
