  1. Finally got around to rename this correctly to 1997 and Sex Mixtape 1244.

Thanks to Burien for spotting it :)

That tune no. 18 with the female vocal doesn't sound like something Jules would only play once...

Can anyone transcribe the vocal?  I don't think my Danish ears are as sharp in the English tongue as someone from the UK would be :)

    2. The first 45 minutes of a live set from Easter 2000 with Judge Jules and Dave Pearce Dance Party at Southsea.  Due to a lot of ware the sound quality is not very good.  First 15 minutes of the tape is the end of Essential Selection with Pete Tong.

Good thing some tapes survived at least. Missing tapes are the worst! :(

Jules and Pearce was on the road with Dance Party from easter to late summer, but the Southsea show was on 25th August

Easter sunday was April 23rd. That week Jules played his Friday Show live from Karranga at Creation, Bristol and the saturday show was a studio show:

    http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?/index.html/1992-2013/2000/2000-04-22-r266/

It would be really interesting to hear the Pete Tong part as that could give a clue to the date and maybe also some unknown tracks :)

  5. OK, had a proper listen to this set again and think we have a new unknown!!

Track 06. Audiomatic - 'Do You Remember?' [A45 Music] does not sound like the clips here:

    https://www.htfr.com/p/150861/audiomatic_do_you_remember

    https://www.juno.co.uk/miniflashplayer/SF62843-01-01-01.mp3

Can someone with the vinyl please check both sides? It might be the B side 'Schwarzfahrer' or a completely different track!

I've attached a clip of the track cut from the liveset to make it easier to compare. I didn't include the last part of the track where Jules overlays it with the a capella of 'Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough' as that's just confusing :)

    Thanks!

I was trying to find a copy of an insert  in one of the Mixmag magazines titled “1987-1997 10 years of clubbing “ I searched everywhere for it as the girl on the front cover is my wife and it would be great if there is a copy of it somewhere!!

    Hi Rob.

    That's cool! :)

I've attached the insert zipped, sourced from phatmedia.co.uk (or a member on JJA).

  8. Welcome gg2!

The only deaf ears here are because of too much clubbing B)

I am curious if you have created digital copies of the cassettes you have...?

Also if you can create a list of which shows you already have, it might be easier for people to respond as they can check up against your list.

    Just a thought :)

If you need a good place to start in terms of dates and ES tracklists (up to 99 anyway), this is the place: http://sbradyman.angelfire.com/ess-selection.htm

  9. Sorry if I came off to hard, I wasn't having the best day when I wrote that reply -_-

I fully agree low quality audio is better than no audio.

Making a YT playlist for videos with Jules like the Rapture ones is a good idea.

Contacting the uploaders can be a serious hassle, so that's basically for when you "have time" (do we ever?)...

I'll give it a second thought and see what kind of videoes are out there :)

  10. Hey SpinDoctor.

It's not something I've given much thought before now to be honest.

My personal reason for not making a YouTube channel for Jules stuff is that all upload to YT is re-encoded and therefore worse quality than the original file.

Since JJA's archive is for preservation in the best possible quality, i would any day rather contact the person who uploaded the content (be it to Mixcloud, YT, etc) and get a copy of the original file.

So while YT is fine for consuming the content, it's not great for archiving with quality in mind.

As you say, sometimes content goes missing after a while, so the trick is to be vigilant and contact those uploaders first time you see content that isn't here or otherwise accessible as a file. :)
