Mostly terrible remixes there. Yet more un needed remixes of stuff that already have a million. Call me narrow minded if you like, I am a realist. Mobey for old rope a million times over. Many tracks needed leaving alone.

I'm generally a nostalgic, and always been particularly fond of the late 90's - early 00's. When I get opportunity to spin, I still find myself going back there.

 

The thinking behind the mix here, though, was to go back to those days and either pay a tribute back to the track (a lot of them I'd have already featured in mixes so didn't want to continuously recycle), but also show some support to the artists who've had a go at remixing some of the 'classics'. Some should be left alone, tend to agree, but I wanted to put together something fresh - whilst paying homage to the tracks.

 

Fergies take on "The Dawn", may not hit the vibes of the OG, but I actually heard him talking about the track when Jules had him on a session, and the sentiment for the track was touching. Lane 8's take on Zo's Superman was another I eagerly wanted, and twas eventually given away for free... Other compelling tunes were Cosmic Gate's remix of Picotto and Maceo Plex's take on 'Insomnia'.

 

Also loved the harder trance scene stuff, and still like to put out recordings of those days gone by, this one being one of my fondest. Would welcome your thoughts and insights on that, too?
