Spin Doctor
With 2022 now behind us, it's good to see that while the IDs and submissions slowed down last year, there is still a consistent drip feed of progress on the archive with some long standing gaps in knowledge plugged. For my part I didn't upload at the same rate as 2021 or 2022 but hopefully I will be able to uncover some more this year. Wishing all the regulars a happy new year and I hope you are keeping well. Edit: Some new audio for you: 1991-11-24 Judge Jules, Kiss FM - Larry Levan Interview Edited January 8, 2023 by Spin Doctor Incorporate audio link.

Number2Fan
Happy New year, there’s loads of files on here I need to play this year it’s nice to see you’re still here Spin Doctor. Thanks for all your file uploads. All seems like forever ago now that this was all the latest tunes. Now I listen to radio 6 and on Saturday Rylan on radio 2, and I enjoy it. Definitely getting old! blakeface
This is still a great forum. Even though there isn't much activity anymore. I have been a member for a couple of years, i was a member even further back, but forgot my log in details. I have been looking through old posts, there has been lots of interesting reading material! Not to mention listening to all the old sets and radio shows from the Judge, and paying attention to the tracklists. Just so i can purchase great tunes i haven't heard before. Just to feed the vinyl addiction. Jules is playing a 2 hour set near me next weekend. (Probably a classics mix) Tempted to go solo. But if he's going to play jingles and "Put your hands in the air" voice overs - i don't think i'll bother. I tuned in to one of his weekend warm ups the other day, and i was bored! I yearned for a bit of banging house like the old days! He still sounds great over the airwaves though. Kudos to the ones who created this forum, and fingers crossed for some new audio this year.

I've seen Jules do a number of classics sets and, true to form, they have been very inconsistent, either excellent or poor with no middle ground. I did see a clip of JJ set at The Cheese & Grain from last year Moments before the drop of Ayla (the best bit), he played a long drawn out jingle "throw your hands in the air" I mean, wtf. Glad I didn't go!

All very true. I think we can all relate to this! Good to hear you're still enjoying the forums and audio. I have found life really does take over (wife, kids etc) so there's less and less time to maintain this website, but I'll continue to renew the domain and the forum software to keep it "alive". It was made before the days of Soundcloud etc which would have been a lot easier to host the audio but there you go. I do miss the old days of specialist radio, and "simpler" times before the explosion of the internet and the fragmentation of dance music into a million genres. I do still possess an array of Minidiscs to convert into mp3 but with over 300 of the damn things and a very niche way of extracting the audio properly, its a slow process. Amongst the dross and fragments, inevitably there'll be little gems of mixes in there that I'll rediscover and they will be uploaded in due course. For example, I found one half of Jules's end of year round up from 2000, in pristine quality. I know I definitely have the other half on an minidisc - somewhere - once I find it, I'll splice them together and it will be uploaded Anyway, nice this little archive is still bringing back memories. Shout out to everyone who still browses this site, including Spin Doc! Where has the time gone?
Spin Doctor
@Neuro That is an epic track list there so try and prioritise that rip please!
deejaygav
Hi All, I recently converted a load of my JJ Radio 1 mini-disks to digital files. At the time I cut out the songs I didn't' like so don't have full show recordings but might have a number of mixes that are perhaps missing from the archive. I tried to submit one earlier this year but seems to be sitting somewhere unseen by admin. I messaged Neuro last month but he hasn't been online since. I have created a download link, if someone can check it out and upload? I can have a listen through the rest of the files and try to identify any other mixes that are missing. https://drive.google.com/file/d/19zo0tjQJ8o2CiqTq6nQ2ltGfNnBZ_2jG/view?usp=sharing 1999-12-03 - Judge Jules, Friday Show *last 30mins* 30 min mix Extreme Trax – 'Don't Stop’ (Yves Deruyter's Vision Mix) [XTC] Oliver Lieb - Subraumstimulation (Main Mix) [Orbit Records] GD - 'Choral Reef' [iDJ] **cut from recording** Unknown - Cartel - 'Burn Out' (Native Mix) [Global Cuts] Transa - ‘Supernova' [Xtra Nova] Delirium - ‘Heaven’s Earth’ (Matt Darey Remix Edit) [Nettwerk]

Could you perhaps post a list of the shows you've converted? Anything from 1999 like the above is worth its weight in gold.
