Few corrections:

09 - Coburn is 'We Interrupt This Program' - as ever!

10 - is Ignition 'Airtight', not the other way around

14 - is the Benny Benassi remix

..and wasn't the 'I Have A Dream' acapella put on top of Einmusic by Jules? Or is that a crap bootleg thats going round? That should be altered in TL too, or am I just becoming a nerd....?

Not heard the show back yet, but looks interesting. Another new JJ tune in there :?

That Martin Luther King speech has been used SO many times in dance music its unbelievable! As its listed in the TL as "(Martin Luther King)" as a remix, perhaps it is a different mix knocking around and not just Jules using an accapella. I'd be suprised if he did anyway!

But its not changed from the original in any way other than the fact that it has the I Have A Dream speech badly pasted on top..?

Ah well, if it was an acapella he put on top, he must have had 3 decks on the go, cos it was mixing in to the next song whilst the acapella was still playing - and Jules doesn't really use 3 decks at a time!

So perhaps it is a white label version that's knocking round, but I'm not impressed at all if it is!

That 'new' Jules tune has just had the vocals changed. It was far better in it original Beautiful Danger form (which Jules played back in January time) These new vocals give the tune a lack of sparkle and no defining chorus in my opinion. Bad choice Jules

I was thinking they sounded (tunefully) similar too. Bring back Beautiful Danger! If not, it will be another tune that won't see the light of day  and was much better anyway.

And what was going on with that E-Craig tune? Don't remember hearing the vocals from Ratty's Sunrise over it before :?

Dormouse - I noticed that the I Have a Dream Speech was mixing in along with the tune. I know Radio 1 have got new studios, but I doubt if Jules would risk using 3 decks :? I may be wrong :? :?

No, but Jules often records sweeps anyway, which is like 5 records mixed in a row, which is why you hear him talking over whilst 2 tracks are mixing. He doesn't always do that, but some of his mixing is pre-recorded.

I still think it sounds crap tho, that acapella...

I think it sounds crap his talking and the jingles over his actual mixing. He used to take great pride in saying he was only 1 of 2 Radio 1 DJs that actually mixed live whenever possible. Bring back Friday night.

I'm very traditional in most things & institutions in life, I think you shouldn't break from tradition just for the sake of change - I know we're in the 21st century but if it ain't broke - don't fix it!!

I don't think this "mixing live" issue is necessarily Jules' fault either, I'm sure he would not pre-record his mixes if he could help it - as well as what Radio 1 tell him to adopt, a later show, less time and gigs to leave early for all make for some inevitable changes... it's just for us having listened for a good number of years we're able to compare, and thus reject the more jingle-orientated, 'commercial' side of Jules' 'specialist' shows.

I find it very irriatating keep hearing the many out-door events being repeatedly advertised throughout the show. In all fairness it is happening the same on all the other shows as well. ie; Tongy's and Dance Anthems shows so it isn't just Jules's show. We aren't allowed to digest the program we are listening to at the time. They just want you to think ahead all the time as if it is a race. It's as if they are saying, "That's done and dusted now onto the next show" Its a shame.

That's a fair point Chrissie!

I'm sure that most of the friday night shows were pre-recorded, but at least there wasn't any chat over the mixes, nor in the smaller 3 track ones. I think that's the kind of format that would make the Saturday show brilliant if it could be - but due to scheduling time slots etc it just can't be. It has to be punchy.

I've emailed Jules about whether Beautiful Danger and The Night You Kept me Warm are the same tune with different lyrics or not, because its really starting to annoy me! Fingers Crossed, are questions will be answered soon!

Beautiful Danger had to have the vocals removed because the singer (Kirsty Hawkshaw, who also sang Tiesto's Just Be) became so difficult that it made more sense to re-write the song and put her out of the picture, hence the arrival of "The night you kept me warm".

Just so you know!

Oh dear! Hopefully not too many creative differences! Ah well it seems to have turned out all right in the end though ;)

Professional singers are difficult by nature, but I think that's partly to do with their probable perfectionism streak, because you're only used to such a high quality performance and nothing less. I think this is a good thing, because you have (most probably) been professionally trained, which people don't realize makes an incredible difference; but equally so this can open the other end of the spectrum where as a singer you can be far too finicky on things to the point that you end up getting nowhere, which might be where things get "difficult" for all concerned...?

Jules, I would have loved to have heard Jan Johnston perform on one of your tracks, got a fabulous voice, but I gather she is quite difficult to track down, as I remember Tomski once saying for "Love Will Come".
