This was a bizarre Essential Mix and I remember being really disappointed that Jules didn't look a little more recently at the time to all the amazing trance he had played in 98 & 99.

Yeah I kind of agree - I remember staying up late to record this onto minidisc, and I was disappointed at the time.

However, now, its one of my favourites in the car - it makes a nice change to listen to something different. I can't believe this was so long ago though - it seems like yesterday

It was a nice change to hear some of the stuff he used to play. But i have to side Quad on this. I remember thinking this would be an awesome mix, but it was only good. It didnt bowl me over. 6 years ago though!!! that is scary.

This is an awesome essential mix. I always used to listen to it when getting ready to go out at uni (ah, those were the days!!).

My favourites are:

Lustral - Everytime (Nalin & Kane Rmx) A real chunky baseline.

Rozzo - Into your heart (Got this on vinyl, love it!)

Golden Girls - Kinetic

The last two definitely make it into my all time top 5. Wicked tracks.

gave this another listen, and over time, i think i like even more now. It really is superb. Back when i first heard it i was only about Trance. But over the years i'm becoming more into house aswell as trance. I can't stop listening to this mix now. It's well mixed too. My personal favourite here is the Fine Young Cannibals "I'm not the man i used to be" (The Monster Mix)...it's superb!

Can you confirm what version Jules played of Rozzo and what label its on guv ? :D

This is a strange one as although listed as Rozzo on the tracklisting, the actual vinyl has no mention of such producer?? . The actual producer on the vinyl is '6 by six' - Into your heart. The label is 'six6' or '6x6' I cant quite figure it out??

Its the Tall Paul rmx you want. I think this remix is a brilliant example of Tall Paul's style with a big chunky baseline and wicked vocals.

10/10 from me!!

So what is the version jules played during this essential mix?!!

I dont want to be confrontational  but that vinyl doesn't have the Tall Paul mix listed on the cover.

http://www.discogs.com/viewimages?what=R&obid=106512 Thats the vinyl I have.

Discogs lists this track as sampling 'Rozzo - Into Your Heart' and does include the Tall Paul rmx, which is definitely the one on that essential mix as I have it on vinyl. Its on 6x6 Records.

If you can force yourself to go onto HTFR (I had to) to look at this, the proof is in the pudding....

I really enjoyed this essential mix at the time. It was great to hear Jules spin some of his favourite tunes from his earlier years as a DJ. By the way Bjorn if you see this thread this is the essential mix I was telling you about the other day when we were discussing old tunes.

since acquiring this mix off this very site, i have to say, it is now my most listened to mix cd! This mix really gets better with every listen. Also, Jules programming on this is superb. Then again, thats always been jules' meal ticket, his programming of tunes - he just knows what to play and when.

Oh and the mix of Nalin And Kane "Beachball" into Katana is superb. The Katana riff sounds like it was made for Beachball!
