Tim451
I've decided to build up a collection of some 90's dance classics (93 - 97) but I don't really know where to start. All I can find is pure cheese. I want to get the kind of stuff Jules was caning back then. Any recommendations for tracks to look out for? Cheers
Quadrant
Maybe some Tin Tin Out, Danny Rampling remixes, Jam & Spoon... a real mixture of tunes across those years. Try searching some DJ tracklistings on websites, sir!

Try searching some DJ tracklistings on websites, sir! Cheers for the tip i'll have a nosey around some sites. You want house euro house trance breaks techno big beat the lot? House & Trance preferably. I didn't get into dance music until around 2000 & I fell out of love with it around 2005 & got back into it at the start of 2008. I'm trying to fill the gaps in my collection & the more recent tracks seem to be much easier to come by than the older ones. Cheers again

Number2Fan
Remember hearing this on a foreign radio station I stumbled across one saturday night. Must have been about 13 at the time. Yeah fond memories for me that one. Actually used to hear that in the clubs, took us ages to get a copy of it. Was always good to be the one that got hold a tune. Sourmash (like Jason said) that was another one we loved! Jason, do you have any of those tunes on your list?? I'd quite like to hear a sample of some of them! FuzzY-LogiC
Michael Jackson - HIStory (Tony Moran's HIStory Lesson) or the Dub version.. it's on the B-side... f*cking rocks if you ask me... and the video is pure energy! probably the last REALLY good MJ made. works perfectly in a energetic house set also.. check Jules' old Essential mixes for good stuff.. his Emixes from between 94 & 98 is interesting
Spin Doctor
Loads of great suggestions so far. However, if you fancy a brief flirt with commercialism try these. The are getting closer to cheese without crossing into absolutely horrendus noise. - Mc Sar & The Real McCoy - Run Away: loads of mixes but the Airplay one is the best, though I can only find a radio edit of it which is on the CD release. - Anything by Mel & Kim, 80s but who really cares? - Culture Beat - Mr. Vain, is bloodey awesome I don't care what people think. - Livin Joy - Dreamer, as above. - Early Stonbridge mixes, particularly Robin-S - Show Me Love. - Early Prodigy would be an essential to get, Charlie, Voodoo People, Out of Space etc. - Liquid - Sweet Harmony, the chords on this still send shivers up my spine. - Anything by Norman Cook, so Pizzaman, Mighty Dub Kats. - Early Orbital, Underworld, Chime, Satan, Belfast, Halcylon, Cowgirl, Born Slippy, Cowgirl. - You also need the entire Leftfield back catalogue. If you say you like electronic music and don't like Leftfield then in my mind you don't like electronic music. This thread should be more than enough to get you going. EDIT: Gave up on the real commercial and got onto more 'classic' tunes artists after a while! EDIT II: I realise these are not all 'jules' tunes, for which I'm sorry as the thread asked for them. Never mind, all good music so it's happy days. EDIT III: 808 State!!! Edited March 12, 2009 by Spin Doctor
Number2Fan
LOL at spin doctor! Mel and Kim ha ha. (I'm not laughing in a horrible way) but it is funny. Anyway, agreed too, anything by Leftfield and Underworld, I was gonna say Real 2 Real - raise ya hands (if ya havin' a good time) there was a good mix of that played in clubs, and we liked, blast - crazy man, and giant city - feel the spirit even though it had hints of cheddar If anyone say Whigfield, don't listen. lolol
