What is the best Judge Jules mix on this site?

Recommended Posts

Hmmmmmmmmmmm I'll have to give this one some serious thought. You say mix, not show yeah?

Mix or show as some of the Friday shows have some really good last half hour mixes

Quadrant's choice would be:

Best Jules E-mix:

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?showtopic=3613 (07/11/99 Sundissential!! Tempo + atmosphere is beat-perfect. Listen to it.

(And GD - Choral reef is left to run for its full 8 minutes of glory!!))

Best Jules shows:

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=14 (9/11 Special!! Every single tune and every mix is top shelf.)

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=8 (ok it's Ferry Corsten covering for Jules in 2000 - 2 hour mix)

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=201 (26/11/99 - just sums up Jules's amazing year of 99 for me)

That should kick you off nicely, sir. :ninja:

Fuzzys Top picks, in no particular order:

Portsmouth Uni 2001 (this was broadcasted the day after my birthday and I listened live on the radio... the mix is superbly mixed and goes from breaks -> hard house/techno and ends perfectly with some of the most delicious trance tunes from the year 2001; 'Strange World', 'Questions Must Be Asked' and 'Sunrise at Palamos')

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=261

Sankey's Soap, 2000. "Full on fridays" got another meaning in 2000 when Jules started playing that really dirty hard techno... this set is SO energetic, and even though we don't have the complete show I'll vote for this anyway, coz this is as mad as it gets! Kicking things off with 'Pistol Whip'... goes techno from there, dropping classics like 'Factor Y' and 'Baguette'... diving into trancemode again later in the set with the brilliant 'Gizeh Mix' of Madelyne - 'A Deeper Love' which sets the perfect atmosphere for 'Superstring' and 'Angelic'...

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=68

Best 'Ibiza' mix; Bar M, 2000

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=124

Note the way Jules mix 'Skydive' into the break of 'Played-A-Live'... it just works!

Qontact 2001 ....do I need to say anything? Jules' Gladiator mix was played in the end. Period! :) The set is just amazingly put together from start to finish... very trancy and very energetic, kinda dark energy really. Very much a favorite of mine. In my opinion, the few times the female MC does her thing, it fits good with the tune being played... but hey, that's just me

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=189

This is just a small selection of my faves... By the way, I hope the "Rate File" feature will be more used in the future so new users (and us older ones) can get a good idea of what's good :) One way of telling if something is popular is of course to look at the number of downloads and views.

This is my favourite Friday Night Show. 26-11-1999 uploaded by Simcut.

I think at this particular time I was out clubbing all weekend every weekend and listening to my taped Jules shows all week, but as I got a shout on this one, I kept it in the car for alot longer and the tunes really take me back to that time now. But just look at the tracklisting, I actually thought Judge Jules was a GOD and I never thought it would end. I do still have the tape of this show upstairs but no tape player, and so I am eternally grateful to Simcut for looking after his tapes far better than I ever have. I'm still wanting to buy this tune, all these years on.. 07. Lexy & K-Paul - 'The Greatest DJ' [Low Spirit Recordings]

I made a tape for my friends party, and I mostly used tunes from Jules shows cut together with other stuff. And it actually worked. Bar a couple of 'give it to me judge' jingles lol

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=201

I'm flicking through alot of other shows, all the final mixes are awesome for me, but I do love this show 11-12-1998

http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?showtopic=5322&st=0

do you know what so many are so so good. So many brilliant records have been made and I'm so glad I was there to be a part of it, albeit a small part, I do feel like I WAS THERE!!!

The Bar M one above, in Fuzzys choices, I never taped, but it was bloody good, and I've always remembered hearing it on the radio in my kitchen att, I rang my friend to tell her to put it on, I was enjoying it that much. You can sense the atmosphere ...

Sankey's Soap for me too, although probably more for personal reasons, it was the most listened to tape among all my friends.

I think the energy and tune selection on that set was just amazing.

It's a pity the full set isn't up on here, as the start of that set is the best for me (even though Jules doesn't even mix one of the tunes at the start, although I believe there were big problems with the mixer that night)

By the way, Fuzzy, I sent Neuro a cassette with the missing section on it, maybe if you asked him, he could dig it out for you, although I'd imagine he has loads waiting to be sorted.

Oho!! So the missing parts are actually out there.. nice1 milkybarkid!

Sending it to me now might not be a good idea for the time being, as I'm about to move.

It would be a shame if it got lost in the moving madness. Maybe our Tape Maestro Mr. Simcut can help out!? :)

I'll have a look, hopefully I still have a copy. It probably won't be great quality though, coz I think I copied it before I sent it to Tim, and sent him the better version.

*edit, I've had a look, and I don't seem to have it, but I'm pretty sure a mate of mine has one, so let me know if I can help. But it can all keep until you are all less busy. It's worth the wait.

What a hard question, a couple of my personal favorites are the millenium and Coventry Uni set in '99. Also like set at Kerranga in 2000 which I found through this site. I could go on and on!....

Picked up the Timo Maas remix of Eye Bee Em on MP3 recently. Absolutely ridiculous! What about Seven Colurs? Wtf?

When was that? (Year)

Hmmmm. Jules did play the Temple Theatre many times late 90's early 00's, but none of it was ever broadcast as far as I know. Have a look at this though (took me ages to find), off Jules' old tv show on Rapture Tv I think. He plays the (now long shut) Temple Theatre. http://www.4shared.com/file/189609726/f0a89790/Judge_Jules_Temple_Theatre.html

Maybe he means this one though; http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=386
