  1. Thanks for the very useful feedback. The show's format changes from this Friday night (which I'm recording 2m, Thursday.) There will be a 25 minute mix at the end of the show, focusing only on more banging stuff (45 mins is too long in my humble.) A couple of the guest interviews will be shortened dramatically. However a few bootlegs will be there... I hope you like them. This isn't a total overhaul, but at the same time is very much driven by your comments. Please keep em coming!
  2. Thanks for yet more feedback. For avoidance of doubt, I answer every single email I receive via my website, which is many hundreds each week. If it seems like I don't appear that much on chat forums, I certainly put my hours in where communication is concerned. I'm sure you can imagine how long it takes to answer all these emails, something very few dj's do. With regard to features on the show, I'm mindful that over 30,000 people listen every week via R1's 'on-demand' facility, at any hour of day or night. As such I feel it's important to give a flavour of what's going on in the scene, and not just assume that all my listener base exists on a Friday night. Whilst some folk might only want to hear music, from the feedback I receive there are many people who are interested in hearing what the voices and personalities behind the dj names are like. I welcome your further comment...
  3. Thanks for the feedback- Re slowing the music down towards the end of the show to accommodate the music style of the following show (the E.Mix), I think you're probably right and I'm going to look at hardening up the end. Do you feel I should have a longer mix at some point in the show? Re the 'Recovery record', whilst this might sound funny in energy terms, I'm comfortable with it. Re the number of interviews, I'd be interested in your feedback regarding whether you think each individual interview is too long. I reckon that the number of guests is correct, but maybe each interview should be shorter and more snappy. Re the overall music- very often in clubs I keep things harder from beginning to end, but I feel that radio affords the opportunity to be a bit broader. I'd appreciate your comments.
  4. Hiya... I know some folk get frustrated that I take ages to release stuff, but it's the only way to properly build up demand. My album Laid Bare did well as a consequence. Hope you guys understand! Jules
  5. Hiya... Pretty simple- we record two possible winning scenarios, according to how the vote goes. Although some of my shows are prerecorded, certain bits (ie live callers' shouts) get added on the day of transmission, including (now) the 'Budge the Judge' winner as well.... Cheers... J.
  6. Hi there, I don't think it would be professional to go into detail regarding the difficulties I encountered with Kirsty Hawkshaw, but suffice to say I'm not very difficult to deal with, and it takes a lot to force me to remove and re-sing a vocal....
  7. Beautiful Danger had to have the vocals removed because the singer (Kirsty Hawkshaw, who also sang Tiesto's Just Be) became so difficult that it made more sense to re-write the song and put her out of the picture, hence the arrival of "The night you kept me warm". Just so you know! Jules
