    After the death of the Radio 1 Roadshows in the mid 1990s, Dave Pearce managed to persuade the bosses of Radio 1 to put the outside broadcast equipment and trucks to good use. The result was the Radio 1 Dance Party. Over the next three years Dave Pearce hosted Friday night Dance Parties from around the UK during the summer months, broadcasting for 2 hours on Friday nights on Radio 1.
