this is worth the download just for the atmopshere in the first 30 minutes alone. It's absolute electric in that place, wish i could have been there!

the 2nd track on here is Fragma "Toca Me" (Natious Mix) [Positiva Recs]

This came on the IPod earlier today, and there's one track that really stood out today. Magica "Magica" (Ibiza Remixx). I have never heard this before, but its so good. It's got a gorgeous breakdown, i cant believe i missed this! I'm going to hunt this down on Discogs. I heard it and it just took me back 10 years ago, you know one of those tracks where your mind just goes back to what you were doing at that time, what job you had, college friends etc etc - Amazing track!

i'm sure i remember hearing this at the time. It was shortly after i passed my dirving test and i was just cruising around aimlessly. I say this because i remember the comment after the System F track, for some reason - it may have been has i had bought the System F track that day, i remember. I never thought i'd hear this again. Also, my 19th was the following day, a quiet night on friday and a hectic one at Passion, i think it was the following night. Its not a bad show tbh. The half mix aint bad either. Thanks for the upski.

i can't believe this little gem has been missed. I'm gonna bag this after work tomorrow, it looks quite good. This is a BIG upload. Cheers to Lee Ruffles. This wuld have been when i bought my first set of decks. I was big into the speed garage type sound that shines through in this mix. I used to like the big basslines and the time stretched vocals so much. I didnt get into Jules until early 99, so had no idea he played this stuff. Serious Danger "Deeper" is one of my personal favourite records ever - i love it. That bassline is HUUUUUUGE. This is the one track i'd love to hear in a club, but never did. I always thought this was THE speed garage track too, not "Gunman" or "RIPGroove". Whatever happened to Serious Danger? he was remixing everything in 97-98 i seem to recall. And Camisra, was that really 1997? I thought it was 1998? Thats still a tune. It bangs along real nice. That Trevor Reilly track too, so many good tunes on this mix, which goes to establish what i've said on here previously, 1999 wasnt the best year for dance music, that was simply the year the mainstream "got it". 1997-1998 was the best era, and the mst creative one.

a friend of mine (who plays guitar) claims the breakdown sounds extremely similar to Ry Cooder "Paris, Texas". That apparently, is where the sample comes from or reconstructed. Apparently, its a title track from a soundtrack to a film called "Paris Texas". I dont know if thats of any use?

Enjoyed these 2 mixes. A nice trip down memory lane too. I enjoyed doing this too, i did mine live from vinyl, which was a bit of a laugh. Its great to see so many tunes that Jules has supported over the years, and for each of us to pick some of our favourites. Theres so much variety too. Also, these 2 mixes would give some indication of how good a little members night out would be.

thats it! Coxy played Australia and then somewhere in Hawaii didnt he? I think Oakenfold played aswell. Yes, we had a house party too. Even the ritzy's at the time were charging £20-30 to get in down out way!! We had the broadcast playing at the house party at the time, and admittedly, i was too bladdered to even think abot recording it. Wish i did now though. I mainly remember the excitement mainly though, even through the radio you could feel it on the evening. Some very happy days.

the hwole broadcast was aazing i thought. I'd never heard anything like it. From memory, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox, Julesy, Pete Tong, Fab & Grove had sets. I would have loved to have taped it, but 12 hours is a lot of tapes. For the record, i cannot remember NYE that year, thats how good mine was!

Trackitdown.net. I like the website design, and i like they always have artwork (i use Traktor Scratch so i like to have the artwork too). Trackitdown just tend to get the house stuff i really like. They're good for trance too. Beatport is my second favourite. The website design is easily the best/most powerful, but they are expensive and i cant get the artwork! Djdownload, although the needle drop is a good idea, the rest of the website seem bland. But i do check them occasioanlly.

negtory my frien'. The tune played in this mix is the Rejected EP side A "Soulsearcher vs. Apollo 440". This was released over the summer of 1999. Jules hammered it. This was a white label. It got an "official" release in 2001, where it was re-created by Eye To Eye, whoever they are. The vocals were resung by Taka Boom - probably due to clearance issues from using the original vocals. Lange did a remix of THIS version. This was released on Xtravaganza records. The original mix of Eye To Eye and the Rejected EP do sound very close (save for a few "whooshy" bits and mre urgent vocals). Think along the lines of the "Bangkok Tranny" bootleg (made by Stuntmasterz) where it fused "The Boy Is Mine" by Brandy & Monica over Modjo "Lady". When it got a full commerical release, the vocals had to be resung and they had to replay the backing, because of clearance issues. The commercial release was naff and everyone wanted the bootleg. I have this bootleg too, but its next to impossible to mix!

er,. as ever it slightly changed, i've just recorded mine...New Vision "Me + You" (Mad Mark & DJ Antoine Mix), Lost Witness "7 Colours" (Angelic Mix) and Darren Tate "Fall From Grace" (Gracelands EP). I'm just checking it now for levels. I did it one go straight off vinyl, no ripping into Traktor or nothing. I forgot how much fun it is mixing straight off vinyl, and how good it sounds. Ferry Corsten's sound was was quite distinct in 2000. He was starting to move away from the euphoric 1999 sound - more into a darker minor chord sound. System F "Cry", Desiderio "Starlight", William Orbit "Ravals Pavane...", Apoptygma Berzerk "Kathy's Song" productions all had a more mature Ferry Corsten sound. I guess what i'm trying to say is, this track isnt produced well enough to be Ferry. I initially thought Rocco & Heist, but if they say its not them then i its not. Hmm, this is the beauty of the mysteriousness that surrounds white labels.

I dont think is Paul Masterson as Briggsy said. I dont think its Signum either, Signum, like Paul Masterson made their trance a bit funky - all in the basslines. I think this was knocked up by some bedroom producer, pressed on a limited run of whites. I dont think you'll ever know who did it unless Jules plays it on his show and it jogs someones memory.
