  1. Has anyone heard this? does anyone have this? i can't even find it on Discogs yet HTFR have had it in stock before. If anyone knows where i can locate a copy it'd be much appreciated! It's abosolutely brilliant. There's a Gossip mashup floating around aswell which is pretty damn good.
  2. As a man city fan, this is pretty much how most of us are feeling. The thing with someone pumping money into a club is, they expect a return on it. At the end of the day, they view it as a business. Most fans want Sven to stay. He got us playing good football and made some fairly good buys.
  3. Serato Scratch Live. Allows you to play mp3's by using timecoded vinyl. You use the vinyl to manipulate the mp3's from your laptop as you would normal records. It's all connected via a box which goes from the mixer, into your laptop. Flick the line/phono switch and you can play proper vinyl! it's so good, it really is. Highly highly recommended. I'm amazed Rane hasn't marketed the hell out of it yet. If they did, this would be industry standard in every dj booth.
  4. that is an exceptional tune that. It is the above tune. I remember hearing Eddie playing and was like WTF?
  5. That is one of Ferry's best productions that. But it never got the recognition it deserves. Personally, i'd like to see (or hear) Dave Spoon take on Shut Up And Dance "Dance Before The Police Come"...
  6. Wow, that's impressive if you do that. Half of my vinyl is in my nan's garage and the other half is in my folks garage. I had to move half because the folks kept moaning about the amount of tunes i had and they are sorted like thus; all piled neatly irrespective of artist, label or catalogue number. I'd just sort them into labels thought, if i could be bothered. I will reunite my vinyl collection when i move out of my shared house, in 2 months time. Cant wait. I also let Serato Scratch Live do the cataloging for me these days!
  7. Armin is a ledge, i could never understand all the fuss over his A State Of Trance radio show, then i listened to it this weekend in Kiss FM. Well, i loved it. I can't understand why Radio 1 dont try to ensnare him as their specialist trance DJ?
  8. Armin Van Buuren played the "Evol Wavesh" mixsh of Shander Van Doorn "Pura Vida" on hish Shtate of Transh Show thish week. Shounded good.
  9. deadmau5 - not exactly and Eric Prydz - pjanoo i think will become classics.
  10. does anyone feel that Adam K & Soha have ripped off the deadmau5 sound?
  11. I saw him at Fitness First yesterday. He was in his posing pouch in front of a mirror flexing his muscles with his friends, i think they were also applying fake tan to one another. He was the one pointing and laughing at me and my puny frame when i could only curl 10kgs.
  12. Thats always the problem when a producer comes up with a fresh new sound. Everybody else rips it off. I mean, the very fact people thought Deadmau5 remixed the Fragma track just goes to show the similarities. But the Delerium mixes are crap. Why bother? But, i quite like "Hi Friend"...
  13. that Triballa "nothing ever" track is really really good.
  14. is Pura Vida getting a full release? I really like "Sushi" from the LP at the moment...
  15. It seems to be a thing that goes around every generation if you like. 10 years ago, there were house/trance records sampling/remixing early 90's rave tunes etc. Now it seem to be the trance golden era that's getting remixed/sampled. On one hand, it's nice to play a classic, and a well remixed classic is well worth it. It can interest you in a record you never previously likes. I've posted here earlier about James Talk's excellent remix of X-Press 2's "Smoke Machine", a track i dont like in its original format, but this mix is ace. I actually preferred the Cosmic Gate mix of "Fly Away" over the original - a rarity in that a remix betters the original. I like the Cosmic Gate mix of "Carte Blanche", i really do, but it simply cannot compete with the original. Richard Durand has made some great remixes too. His Audio Bullys bootleg is fantastic, as was his Fragma remix. I guess it may have something to do with who and how the remix is done. I'm not keen on the Ayla "Ayla" remixes at first either. I quite liked Danny Nightingales version at first. Then i went back and listened to the Taucher mix and realised how poor it was in comparison. Paul Webster missed a blinding opportunity to make that track his own. Solar Stone's "7 Cities" is another one that seems to get continually remixed. The Original "Atlantis" mix was by far and away the best, although the Armin Van Buuren 2002 update was actually quite good. However, on the other hand we see the effortless "Electro House" sandwiches. Tunes with generic electro house beats and bass filled with classic breakdown - see "Jump", "Sugar Daddy", "Push The Feeling On" etc. There was loads of them. It tends to run dry and get very boring and very predictable. And it's the lack of creativity of rehashing classics that vexes me. Also, how many more remixes of Energy 52 do we REALLY need? Everytime i hear a new remix i dont even bother with it. The Three'N One mix and Solar Stone mixes are the only ones that do it for me. To conclude, i'd rather people make more tracks rather than rehash classics. If the classic is handled right then i have no problem, it's when there no thought or creativity gone into the remix thats the problem. PS. Does anyone remember what happened to Jason Cortez' mix of Nalin & Kane "Beachball"? I really really want this. I messaged him on myspace and he said it was going to be released...still not. Anyone heard owt on this?
  16. Ferry Corsten's sound was was quite distinct in 2000. He was starting to move away from the euphoric 1999 sound - more into a darker minor chord sound. System F "Cry", Desiderio "Starlight", William Orbit "Ravals Pavane...", Apoptygma Berzerk "Kathy's Song" productions all had a more mature Ferry Corsten sound. I guess what i'm trying to say is, this track isnt produced well enough to be Ferry. I initially thought Rocco & Heist, but if they say its not them then i its not. Hmm, this is the beauty of the mysteriousness that surrounds white labels.
  17. I dont think is Paul Masterson as Briggsy said. I dont think its Signum either, Signum, like Paul Masterson made their trance a bit funky - all in the basslines. I think this was knocked up by some bedroom producer, pressed on a limited run of whites. I dont think you'll ever know who did it unless Jules plays it on his show and it jogs someones memory.
  18. can someone re upload the samples. I need to have a listen to this. ta. the other links dont work.
  19. Haven't heard this in a while. Another that i could never get hold of at the time. IS it just me or is the bassline exactly the same as "Sound Of Bamboo"? My favourite track of the whole set. I remember hearing Jules play this at Crasher in 2k. I was like what the f...........k is this!?! I could never get hold of it though. Still a rockin' track. I particularly like the samples in there. I also like the screams of "nice one bruuuuuuuuuuuva" in the breakdown...oh the memories of phrases... God this sounds good even now. This always used to be played near the end by Jules back in the day. That breakdown is awesome. Good set this, well worth checking out. I remember this well, as our lot talked about going but alas, we never did. The atmosphere sounds great though. Fuzzy, cheers mate, big upload. For me, 2000 was when i got proper into trance/house, it was when i started playing out in Peterborough too - when we actually had a scene here, now it's all wetherspoons and Luminars, with the odd minimal night. Oh, i'm starting to feel real old now too.
  20. god i'd love to bag this, but i'm currently on a web n walk connection due to the fact the housemate who had the broadband connection has since moved out. I'm not resurrecting the line as i should be in my own house in about 8 weeks and the re connection fee will be too much for the 2 months. Anyway, shame the mix didnt last. When i get broadband back, i'll be bagging this. Jules played some cracking house stuff back in 98.
  21. I have this as a white label. It has "Rejected EP" stamped on one side and the run-outs have been scratched out. So i'd amend the tracklisting to simply "Rejected EP - Soulsearcher vs. Apollo 440" or something like that. The two tracks used in this mashup are Soulsearcher "I Just Can't Get Enough" (Accapella) over the top of Apollo 440 "Stop The Rock" (Gigolo's Stop The Jock Remix). It was made by Stuart Crichton of Narcotic Thrust fame. I remember reading in Mixmag around 2000 time when he made it and they interviewed him. He said all he did was buy a defected records accapella vinyl and literally threw the vocals over trance tracks. The b side has Powerhouse "What You Need" (Accapella) over the top of Humate "Love Stimulation". Good piece of vinyl, and as ever, the original bootleg is ALWAYS better.
  22. i wonder what the people who used to listen to jules back then are doing now? if some were say 23/24 then they'd be family people now all married up and stuff!
  23. ahhh very good find Mr Fuzzy Logic. I tell thee, there's some great atmosphere in that main room...just listen to it! That is one up for it crowd. Some good tunes on here...my favourite being the old Wicked Phunker - Jungle Boogie (Black Legend Mix). There was a Black Legend Vocal mix flying around on promo at the time which was even better, i never could get hold of it though so i settled for the dub mix which i have. That was when Robbie Rivera did make some seriously good house track/remixes. Then he went all tribal. Also listen to this type of funky/filtered house...how much better does it sound compared to the electro stuff of today? Marc Et Claude "Loving You" (Dark Moon Mix) also brings back some poignant memories. Jules displays some damn fine mixing here too. The type that help make his name. Very fluid and with a nice flow. A very good post from the Fuzzy one. Definitely download this one. Oh and one other thing, listening to jules mix on here do you get the feeling he finds it easier/prefers mixing with vinyl than he does CDJ's?
  24. track no.9, thats not the Soulsearcher bootleg is it? That was class, the vocals from Soulsearcher "I Just Can't Get Enough" over the top of Apollo 440 "Stop The Rock" (Gigolo's Remix). This was called "Stop The Soulsearcher" and it was on the "Rejected E.P". The flip side had Humate "Love Stimulation" with the Powerhouse "What You Need" vocals over the top. This EP i think was made by Stuart Crichton. He simply got hold of the Defected accapellas vinyl and mashed the tracks up. Either wa, suitably large tunage. Looks a good show, i'll fetch this now. Well i just listened and it's not the above track. It's some sort of remix of Soulsearcher!
