  1. the only thing i really liked that they did was the Killers "Mr Brightside" remix. Other than that i'm not really a big fan.
  2. mortgages and estate agents. I am currently going the unpleasurable experience of bagging my first house. Estate agents are so c**ky and up their own arses its unbelievable. A colleague used to be an estate agent, he's told me about all the dirty tricks they get up to so i'm now super wary of them. Also, i've had to sacrifice going Ibiza this year too for all this stress. Fuel prices also. Why rape the motorist? because it's easy money, people NEED their cars. I'm amazed that there has been no protest so far at nearly £1.09p for petrol and £1.17p for a litre of diesel. I think it's disgusting. It amazes me why immigrants choose this country as its stupidly expensive to live here (although i am told it's because of the benefits they get when they arrive - that we pay for). I have seen some states through my line of work (i.e a 4 bed house that literally has matresses everywhere, with about 16 polish people living there - even then they can only just afford the rent). I'm not being racist either before anyone pipes up. Anyway, at what point does being patriotic become racist? Housemates who steal your milk and deny it. Housemates who dont do their own *u*king washing up. People (usually women) when at the till have paid for something and spend the next five minutes getting their cards/purse in order before moving.
  3. i like the look of this - except that horrible Linkin Park bootleg. I like the way jules is playing what works and not just throwing a set of brand spanking new stuff just for the sake of it. I'm surprised Jules hasn't gone over to Serato Scratch yet - having just started using it myself, after doubting "laptop DJing" i have eaten my words. It truly is great and i hope its the way forward. I have to say also, all that scratching Eddie does annoys me. I prefer Kutski's scratching, because he is physically scratching using the crossfader to cut up the sample - not just slapping a transform effect over the scratch sample using the EFX. Eddie sort of can scratch properly, he used to as a party piece before CDJ's became the norm and when he used to play GoodGreef every week - when i thought Eddie was really, really good. I like Eddie and he is hugely talented, but i feel, for me, his programming lets him down. That for me is why he'll never be a personal favourite of mine.
  4. god i'd love to bag this, but i'm currently on a web n walk connection due to the fact the housemate who had the broadband connection has since moved out. I'm not resurrecting the line as i should be in my own house in about 8 weeks and the re connection fee will be too much for the 2 months. Anyway, shame the mix didnt last. When i get broadband back, i'll be bagging this. Jules played some cracking house stuff back in 98.

ahhh this was when paul oakenfold did make good records. In fact, this is quite superb. This is the quite brilliant Perfecto Club mix of Mansun "I can only disappoint you" on White Label. Well my copy is a white label promo that Mansuns record label pressed up. And no, my copy isnt for sale either! Brilliant track.
  6. s*** i remember Daniel Soto. What the hell is he upto these days?
  7. i just cannot stop listening to this track! sublime production. I first heard this on the infamous Ferry Corsten 2 hour mix when he stood in for Jules in 2000. That show is available on here somewhere. This has got to be Matt Darey's finest moment. I never heard this played at the time though. Am i the only one who thinks this is actually better than "The Silence"?

    Radio

during the day (and most nights actually) i listen to my police radio...hmm. No i only listen to the specialist shows on R1 now. From about 2300hrs, if i'm home, i listen to Classic FM - especially now as they have started to play Jazz from 0000hrs till 0200!! Cool!
  9. she's luuuuuuuuuurvly - i dont care what "y'all" say.
  10. Different Gear Vs. The Police "When the world is running down" was a big tune. I also remember the Drink To Get Drunk and Adicted to Bass remixes they did. All quite good. Dude, how old are ya? How old were you when you went clubbing? I often look at old clubbers guide to 1999 etc inlay cards and think to myself, i wonder where these people are now? what are they doing? they're probably married, with a house and kids. Then, i am wierd like that. I was 18 back in 1999 and still remember moments so well.
  11. Lange was one of the big hitters from the '99-2001 era, along with Signum, Matt Darey and of course, Ferry Corsten. The Agenda remix was better than than this but they are both pretty amazing to be honest. Lets not forget, Lange also did Happiness Happening, Red Sun Rising and DJ Sakin and my personal favourite Lange remix, Friends Of Matthew "Out There". That right there from one producer, shows you just how good that 99-2001 era was.
  12. to be fair though, i really like Fragma "Toca Me" from the first time round. Yes it's commercial but it holds A LOT of special memories for me. The new mixes of it do it justice, i loved the Richard Durand mix, but the In Petto mix blows it out of the water. Yes it rips off Deadmau5' style, but who cares, it's such a good remix.
  13. I bet you right here, right now, that i will never, ever bet or gamble.
  14. cool, i'm gonna hunt a copy of this down. This is a forgotten classic for sure. Possibly, one of Matt's best remixes?
  15. its Airscape "L'Esperenza" [Xtravaganza Recs] . Its not on my vinyl so i think this is the Armin mix from 1999. That mix never got a full release. The only mixes i have are the Original and the Sven Goes To The Love Parade mix. But yeah, its definately Airscape "L'Esperenza" just need to clarify the mix.
  16. just bagging this now. This look hot! I remember this being just before Clubbers Guide to 2000 came out!
  17. that actually looks quite good, mixture of some old and some new. Which i think is important. I've never been one for playing the latest tunes just because they are new.
  18. we went to a few bars in Brum the other week and they were playing of this bassline stuff. I have to say, i really really like it. I like the bass, the temp and the vocals over the top. It's nice to have some err, bottom heavy groove.

    The FA Cup

hey guys, Peterborough United are top of League 2!!!! come on!
  20. nah mate, its all about the Agent X club mix. Heard this out yesterday, and loud, well it sounds bloody good.
  21. as an aside, Love and luck are the only things that science or mathematics cannot explain/prove. Well, so my old science teacher thought!!
  22. liking this at the moment, theres loads of good tracks floating around. Speed Garage from back in '97 was what originally got me into dance music/djing, so its great to hear this sound again. Anyway, i'm going to stick my neck out and say, "Bassline" or Speed Garage as itt was known will be the sound of this summer. Electro House has had the lions share for long enough now, time for something different, with a bit of a groove.
  23. Very very good bassline track. This is definitely going to be the sound of the summer, I'm convinced. Whats peeps thoughts on this track?
  24. I have this as a white label. It has "Rejected EP" stamped on one side and the run-outs have been scratched out. So i'd amend the tracklisting to simply "Rejected EP - Soulsearcher vs. Apollo 440" or something like that. The two tracks used in this mashup are Soulsearcher "I Just Can't Get Enough" (Accapella) over the top of Apollo 440 "Stop The Rock" (Gigolo's Stop The Jock Remix). It was made by Stuart Crichton of Narcotic Thrust fame. I remember reading in Mixmag around 2000 time when he made it and they interviewed him. He said all he did was buy a defected records accapella vinyl and literally threw the vocals over trance tracks. The b side has Powerhouse "What You Need" (Accapella) over the top of Humate "Love Stimulation". Good piece of vinyl, and as ever, the original bootleg is ALWAYS better.
