  1. I don't know that I have any amazingly rare vinyls. I have a few that are worth more now than when I got em but none like those mentioned previously in this thread. My Combi:Nations Sampler (Marco V 4 track selections) is worth a few quid now even though I don't remember it being so rare
  2. Almost upon us, set times should be released in the next couple of days or so & it's definately shaping up to be the biggest event of the year so far for yours truly. Appears I'll be playing early on (warm up duties which I'm never shy of) & playing back to back with Robert Glenn (he guest hosted my show last year & is an all-round standout chap). Hoping the mix can be recorded too
  3. Off the top of my head... 01. Super 8 'Alba' 02. Energy 52 'Cafe Del Mar' (Three n One Mix) - basically got me into trance in the first place 03. Paolo Mojo '1983' (Eric Prydz Remix) 04. Sarah Mclachlan 'Fallen' (Gabriel & Dresden Anti-Gravity Mix) 05. St John vs Locust 'Mind Circles' This will inevitably have changed by the end of the day mind
  4. It should come as no surprise really, the only thing that amazes is how infrequently these things happen. I've been to said Sea World in Orlando & though the shows are quite something & they are very wel rehearsed it's a crying shame that such majestic animals are couped up in something that equates to a human being kept in a bath-tub for their whole life.
  5. Thanks for the kind words folks, I am very much looking forward to this event & what's more it's only just over a week away! I'll get more info posted soon as I get it. If anyone is making a last minute plan to tag along I do still have a few discount tickets too
  6. 2004 & by some distance! It was my first year really going clubbing regularly & I was in Gods pretty much every single Friday that year. Tunage wise it was unbelievable & so many phenomenal prodcuers seemed to break through all at once. Listen to Armin's Year Mix from 2004 to see what I mean. I was way too young for 1999 but the records from that year are very special
  7. Genix - Hi Jules... It’s great to have you back at Passion once more! Jules - Great to be back... Thanks for inviting me once again... Genix - Do you remember your first gig for Passion? If so, when was it? Jules - I’d be lying if I said I remember exactly the first time, but Passion always stood out as the only bastion of trance taking place in a relatively remote location. Passion’s Coalville location makes it a ‘destination venue’, one that people have to make a serious effort to reach. This makes for a special atmosphere. Everybody who’s there has needed to plan the trip, whereas other clubs can be half filled with folk who made a last-minute decision just because they happened to be in the area. Genix - Various venues and club nights have unfortunately closed over the last 15 years... but in your opinion what makes Passion’s venue special and attracts people back? Jules - Quite simply, it’s a very special venue, where the dj feels very close to the crowd, both physically and emotionally. Genix - What has been your most memorable gig at Passion over the years? Does one stand out more than others? Jules - There are very few clubs I could say this about, but I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad or even mediocre night in Passion. It’s the sort of gig that djs plan their whole weekend’s set around. Genix - How do you think the UK club scene will evolve in 2010? Jules - On the one hand, 2010 will inevitably be a challenging year, as young people have been hit particularly hard by unemployment compared to the population as a whole, yet (from my experience so far this year) the combination of a fantastically strong bunch of 2010 tunes and the general resilience of clubland in difficult times keeps things very positive. All my gigs have been very busy so far this year. Genix - In my opinion a lot of the new commercial music being released now all has a dance edge where as it didn’t a few years ago it was more indie and rnb styles. Do you think this will be a good thing and encourage younger people to get into dance music and clubbing? Jules - I think there is some commercial stuff with a dance edge, i.e. Calvin Harris/Dizzee Rascal. However, the majority seems to come from a more urban background (e.g. N Dubz, Taio Cruz, Tinchy etc). Whatever the outcome of this debate, the ‘real’ dance horizon is very bright. I’ve loved SO many new tracks this year alone. Genix -This year you’re back in Ibiza for Judgement Sundays.... Are you ready for yet another summer of huge party’s? Jules - Just about getting there. The line ups are just starting to be assembled, and the holidays just starting to be booked, as folk think Ibiza 2010! Thanks for your time Jules.. We are very proud to be 15 years old and it is a huge pleasure that you will be joining us on March 6th for our birthday celebrations. See You on the 6th March! Genix
  8. Not recorded a mix that isn't radio related for ages & seeing as I had a spare afternoon thought I'd record something a little different to my recent mixes. Basically a much more prog trance affair with some current favourites & one from a couple of years back. Enjoy... 9. The idea of a music filterer is good in principle but I agree totally that it isn't really a practical thing to implement. Music taste has to be one of the most personal things to someone & particularly for a person who makes a living from the music that they play & thus make their reputation of the quality of it, it is a massive oversight imo. But then if Jules is contributing to making these awful, awful bootlegs then surely he is liable for the vast majority of any blame?
  10. How good is this by the way... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HyPJyw_-S8
  11. I don't care if he's got the best music taste since Richie Hawtin - remixing Leona Lewis & not expecting to take shit for it is misguided to say the least. I can understand maybe one or two (tops) remixes of pop tracks if the producer in question hears the track & thinks 'hang on if I put a bassline & 4x4 beat to that it could sound awesome' (ala Blake Jarrell with his Snow Patrol, Anna Nalick & Death Cab For Cutie remixes) or even if the producer receives an offer of many many $$$$$ to remix a pop artist from a major label (ala Steve Angello with that same Cheryl Cole song) but constantly seeking out pop tunes to remix just seems so pointless to me & certainly isn't something I'd want a DJ I followed religously to be doing. The best remix of a pop tune I have heard for ages is Eric Prydz remix of Kings of Leon 'Use Somebody'
  12. I've never been to a proper dance music club that have specified shoes only, plenty of local clubs which think they are better than they are in a vein attempt to promote a high class culture do it but I don't really care when I go to places like that. Proper clubbing for 6hrs + in shoes would ruin my week
  13. Early birds have now sold out for this event, anyone seeking tickets get in touch
  14. Sounds like a good night out, the ringing in your ears doesn't sound good mind. It's a real gripe of mine when DJs or promoters turn the system up to a level it can't handle.

  17. Excellent work Matt, well deserved too as you've really made a cracking bootleg. Re. the Schulz track - it has been around for ages but the new remix package of which the Re:Ward remix was a part has only been about for a few weeks, it's still slow from Jules but maybe it was a grower or soemthing. Personally I much prefer the Grube & Hovsepian remix
  18. He seems to have really gone quiet over the past 12 months, haven't really seen his name on flyers or generally being banded around.
  19. Happy belated birthday mate, not been online a great deal of late so apologies for the late greetings
  20. If you want a brand new one I'd recommend a Stanton the SMX-301 is a standout mixer for the money. Pioneer mixers are the benchmark though, they're so much better than anything else out there
  21. Some of the essential mixes this year have been awful, a lot of samey sounding DJs week in-week out. I have no idea how Sharam won the Essential Mix of the year either.
  22. Never really liked vonyc, mainly for the reasons Jason mentioned. It was really annoying when they had an exclusive & you had to use paypal
  23. Only other one I have used in the past is DJTunes.com it's not the best but sometimes it allows you to buy tunes which are territory restricted elsewhere
  24. I used to use Audiojelly more than anywhere else but they gradually increased their prices & started charging for using a debit card. I avoid them at all costs now. Their only saving grace is they sometimes get the Armada exclusives but they rip you off for those too. I know beatport can seem a little pricey sometimes but at least they don't hike up prices to £2.39 for exclusives
