  1. Have added a couple of slight corrections, nothing major mind, strange how he played the remix of Nu NRG twice in the same show
  2. Finally had a listen just now, some standout tracks on there. Particularly like... Luminary 'Amsterdam' (Super8 & Tab Remix) A&B 'Far From In Love' (Oli Smith Remix) OceanLab 'Sky Falls Down' (DJ Shah Remix) Super8 & Tab 'Helsinki Scorchin' (Michael Cassette Remix) Some of the other remixes aren't to my taste, Hahmo & Jaytech remixes of 'Surrender' are both pretty dull, I had hoped for much more from those two
  3. Have they got the samples working yet? I know they've had big problems with the mp3s of Jaytech
  4. Listened to this mix this afternoon, nice work mate. Some wicked tracks in there accompanied by some good solid mixing. Good stuff
  5. Click the little mangifying glass in the top corner & it enlarges, nice tracklist btw mate
  6. CDJShop is annoying me with their non-working samples at the moment, a few of those remixes look interesting but I'll be waiting for the mp3 releases anyway
  7. I use the EE symbol across most boards, is unique as no-one else seems to have it so I can find my posts easy & I'd like to think it sticks out a little too
  8. You can label me a prog-monkey if you want mate
  9. In my opinion over the past two years or so progressive trance/progressive house has easily been the most exciting genre within dance music, I got a little tired of all the Discover style trance that was being knocked out. Playing progressive stuff gives you much more of a chance to experiment too, can drop the odd techno or tech-house track in & still play some trance towards the end of a set. Allows for more freedome
  10. Yeh I've been playing the Talisman & Hudson remix a lot, was in my last show. 'Street Talk' is nice & chunky, also really liked 'Nails' & 'Hammer' from the EP they released on Vapour in December. Mendes' stuff is excellent right now, check out the follow up to 'Beneath You' called 'Another Level' similar kinda track
  11. I knew I'd convert you some day
  12. To be fair the Original Instrumental of this track has never been bettered imo, I loved it the first time I ever heard it & still do. Only good word I have for the Chus remix is that by slowing it down so much it made it slightly more accessible for house DJs, I remember hearing Fancuili play it at Global Gathering 2004 on the beach stage
  13. The spelling correction was to be my post too haha, great track tho from Paul, things have really taken off nice going mate
  14. Any downloads I grab I always make time to comment, good or bad. Only trouble I have is with all the mp3 downloads I have to purchase for my own sets I don't have the disc space to download as many sets anymore without compromising performance
  15. Disc Two owns virtually every other compilation CD ever, every track on there is fantastic. 'Bulgarian' 'Luvstruck' & 'Violin de la Nuit' are my picks from disc one
  16. Definately see what you're saying mate & i think you've hit the nail on the head with the part of your statement about songs being catchy, Pearce's audience lust for cathy throw-away pop dance songs, they don't wana have to pay attention to a record for 10misn they just want a radio edit that they can have on in their car with some drunken scouse bird saying what a great night out she had in Oceana
  17. I think that there are very credible artists that have made cheesy tunes, Kyau vs Albert 'Walk Down' for me was a very cheesy tune, that vocal was pure cheese! I don't discriminate between pidgeonholing things as chees, commercial etc really. I think that DJ Sammy etc is just sh*t, tunes like those don't even come into my thinking when categorising dance music, that stuff is just pop
  18. I'm not personally slating Dave, obviously he won't turn down easy money or a gig where he feels there is a platform for him to play. Fair enough. I'm not a fan purely as i don't see the appeal, I'd rather see a DJ playing records that form some kind of flow & are mixed properly, in saying that I'm not one for the over-doing of 'classics', Pearce seems to play a large majority of his sets with a lot of classics in. Fair enough for people that want that, but personally I think that an older 'anthem' has so much more effect when it's thrown into a set that has some contemporary unknown records in aswell. Classics nights & DJs like Pearce that (for want of a better phrase) 'Anthem bash' do nothing for me, I'd rather hear someone spin some unknown records for an hour building things up nicely then dropping a massive track, the effect (for me at least) is so much better that way. Each to their own & i'd never slate anyone for liking anything (within reason) but it's not my cup of tea as I'm sure the music i play isn't to everyone's taste
  19. It amazes me that, even with the R1 backing, that Dangerous still plays so many gigs. I know that he appeals to, a shall we say, 'different' clubbing (if it can be called that) crowd but surely people that listen to him play must realise he is dodgy. I duno why they don't simply listen to more tasteful DJs & Shows.
  20. Ignoring Dave Pearce for a while, Briggsy mate love the avatar! 8-)
  21. The way he pitches every tune at about 5+ is ridiculous. One of the many reasons he is wrong :?
  22. Some of the stuff that man has enforced onto people's ears over the years is criminal, way too much cheese and i.m.o his mixing is generally always shocking. When i first started out i had a little motto to help me when i got down about messing up a mix it read 'If Dave Pearce can do this so can I' Basically i thought, look if that muppet can get gigs and be paid hundreds for playin cheesy trance over-pitched and poorly selected then there is no reason why i can't
