It is with regret that I inform the members of this community that I am leaving the JJA outfit as moderator of this board with immediate effect.

Earlier this year I accepted a new position as senior technical analyst for a large financial firm. As a result of this new venture and ongoing family obligations it has become increasingly difficult to find time to help out as much as I want to on here. Later this month I am due to be posted to New York for 3 months, returning just in time for Christmas.

I just wanted to post here and express that it has been a real pleasure working with Tim and to have been able to offer my technical hand over the past 5 years, especially during the start-up... which was an adventure for all of us! Those of you who were here at the beginning will no doubt have seen how far the website has come, and I know there is lots to look forward to too. It's very hard to leave any project, but I feel the time is right now to make way for this website to progress and move on to the bigger stage, which I have no doubt will be accomplished in the coming years.

I'll pop back now and again to see how everything's coming along, but for now I wish everyone on here the very best for the future - and to thank you all, the members, for making this messageboard community the most vibrant, friendly and courteous that I've encountered, bar none.

We're not sure why but our normally super-quick messageboard here has yesterday and today been playing up, with the loading of pages sometimes hanging, which results in people refreshing pages, double posts appearing, etc. We are looking into this and will probably reboot MySQL (where the database is stored) later on today to resolve it.

This is due to a PHP configuration error which is currently being looked at to allow parsing of these kind of large file uploads, which are not that common.

I am lucky enough to be on a 5-year tracker mortgage which has come in very handy recently. More by luck than judgement, though.

Other than the increased amount of disk space, we have negotiated so that the new server we are on now has about a 3-times-more-powerful CPU and 3 times more memory. Not a bad result overall.
