    Col Hamilton

Sorry cant help you, sounds like a julesy tune rather than mine :)

    Which is true....innit!

At least that rules out Jules' statement that Col played it. (which i think everyone knew anyway seeing as it finishes his own set off)

Can anyone get in touch with Nalin or Kane.........as mentioned further up the thread, it has an 'open your eyes' sound to it.

  2. I thought he would have been made aware already.

I have just emailed him again. You never know, the 'Paris, Texas' song title along with the tracklisting that I attached may just trigger something in his head.

i also asked him if he wouldnt mind popping onto the board to put his view forward.

Hopefully he'll be as courteous as he has in the past. taking his time to reply.

  3. Smooth bit of detective work there Neuro, however it's all merely circumstantial, and we still don't have a motive as to why he would say Col Hamilton played it? Surely if Jules had made the tune, he would have said something by now?? Someone made have made the track sampling Ry Coode - paris Texas after they read it in Jules' 'do us a tape ' article as they wanted Jules to play it, much as people make tunes (bootlegs/remixes) now using tunes they think JULES will wanna try out and play. Personally I think Jules did play it, and not Col Hamilton...but I think you are right in that, Jules could perhaps say something on the whole matter, is he fully aware of the debate and daily turmoil his fans and other music lovers are in because of it!!?

    Go For It Tim!!

Btw aswell, I doubt it's Westbam, as has been suggested earlier in this thread. I've not heard Westbam make any tunes like this one.

If I am now proved wrong by the correct identity of this track, that will be a good thing! :)

I have made him aware of the massive search going on, on more than one occasion. I pointed him in the direction of the trance addict thread that has had something stupid like 60,000 views and 17 pages of replies

  4. Thing is Jules said that he didnt play it, Col Hamilton did...

Just popped over to see if there has been any posts on the infamous track and theres been a flurry of activity(ish)

I'm not sure why, but I don't believe Jules.

Did he play the Lush set b2b? If not, why would Col Hamilton have played the tune in Jules set? I just think he's said that because he has had so many requests for the title.

I'm also not convinced that the track is a direct sample of Ry Cooder, although you can hear the similarities. The first couple of times I asked Jules, he never mentioned Ry Cooder and it wasn't until the third time that he stated that.

It sounds to me, from that magazine scan, that Jules is familiar with Ry Cooder's music, and has just made the comparison when listening to the tune, rather than having anything to do with it.

The plot thickens though!!! Good work people

  5. Yeah proper annoying! no wonder theres no discogs entry for it even on a one sider or owt

cant believe it was never released. been looking for it for ages. the solarstone mix with vocals is for sale on htfr but the dub is better

  6. Did you send them direct links to the two clips hosted on this site? If so, I'm very surprised if they found the clips were not working, because we have had no downtime on the main server for ages.

yes the links are direct to this site. i think its more to do with the way myspace puts spaces into the addresses which means that they dont work. taking the spaces out works

  7. How about Marco V, Svenson & Gielen or E-craig? If not them maybe they might recognise it? its worth a try i recon. Can someone drop them a note?

Funnily enough i sent the clip to Svenson & Gielen about half an hour before your message. not had anything back yet i dont think.

Im not sure whether the artists have actually been listening to the clips. i have had a couple say that the link is not working only for me to find that when i send it over myspace, spaces are automatically put between the full stops and words in the address. some will realise and take out the spaces, others may not

EDIT...Just checked my myspace messages and Sven Maes of Svenson & Gielen has emailed to say its not theirs

  8. But it's so polished and in its final stages I can't understand why someone wouldn't release it...?

right, i have not heard back from Rank 1 yet but i did send jules another email to ask him whether he can play the clip on his show. he didnt say either way although he did send this

    "Hi Gaz

Cheers for your mail. I know it samples Ry Cooder, but that’s about as far as I can get on this one.

Sorry I can’t be more useful on this occasion.

    All the best,

    Jules"

who or what is ry cooder??

you would have thought if it was something from paul masterton, jules might have known as they were together in hi-gate, yomanda etc. (although hi-gate tunes are plenty in that particular set). i cannot find any contact for paul either from googel or on myspace. any ideas???

EDIT....Found hm on myspace so ill see what i get back

  9. Good work Gaz - welcome to this board by the way... I've seen you prowling Tranceaddict.com so hopefully you'll become a regular on here too :)

My bet on this track now reside with Rank 1 ... do you reckon you can get in contact with them and ask?

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Crazy Malamute - firstly because the mix we're all familiar is a guitar remix, and secondly the bend is nothing like the original. I reckon you can write them off pretty safely.

Failing that, it could be a shelved project by Paul Masterson, which would explain why only Jules seemed to have this.

    The hunt continues.

since my last post i have had replies from Dino Lanni of Flat 6, S.H.O.K.K and Thomas Pogadl of P.G.L all of whom said its not theirs, nor do they know whos it is.

S.H.O.K.K did say that they thought the sound was very much like what the dutch producers were using around the year 2000 and that his bet would be on one of them.

Best get emailing the thousands of em ;)

  10. Well folks,

I decided that i wasnt going to let this one die and so have done a bit of digging to try and find out once and for all what it is after seeing a post on trance addict.

I sent off some emails to possible artists in the hope that one of em would recognise it.

Tillman Uhrmacher said he didnt have a clue and had never heard it before

Torsten Stenzel of York gave this reply

    "Hi,

you know...i know this track, i have heard it...but i dont know who it is !? it reminds me to my old productions and to atb, who we influenced a lot with awakening on 9pm till i come...it has also the same bending effect on the roland lead sound..which isnt a real guitar, i always work with real instruments. keep me in the loop when you have more infos !

Michael Rocco of Rocco & Heist replied

    "Hello Gaz,

    Hope you are well.

Sorry, but Im sure this isnt one of our productions, although it sounds very much like what were doing around that time. It does sound familiar though, but I really couldnt name it. Sounded like a good'n.

Thanks for getting in touch and thinking about our music.

Kindest regards to you and the trance addicts.

    Michael Rocco

    (R&H)"

I also had replies from Altitude, Dave Joy and Darude (to see if it was any of his alias') all to say that its not one of theirs.

    The search goes on!!!!!

EDIT My initial reaction was that it could be something from Crazy Malamute but god knows how to contact him/them
