Splitting A Set Into 2 Parts

I've done this but the software I used has expired; the problem lies in the fact we're trying to split a Windows Media Audio (.wma) file... if they were mp3s it'd be easy!

I'm doing some scouting now for some software and will let you know. Anyone else help in the meantime?

Nero should do the job for ya mate, just choose to cut the cd finish time down to 60mins for disc one and then 60mins for disc two. This cna be done in properties. 8-)

I forgot about this! This is true, go into Nero Burning ROM (not Xpress), open a new "Audio CD" and slap the big 120min file as if you were trying to burn that to disc, then click it's Properties and split it in two from there. I think it's happy doing that regardless of the file type 8-)

Good bit of advise there - should sort you out nicely.

Had a similar prob myself, wanted to convert these wma files to mp3 for car cd player. Do you know of any software to convert wma file to mp3? Nero would do it nicely, but you need to burn it as audio first?

dBpoweramp do a nice audio convertor that should sort most people out and apparently enjoys flipping between wma and any format as well.

Although its mp3 encoder expires after 30 days, I always save files as .wavs and then convert them with a standalone mp3 encoder such as RazorLame or winLAME (I use the latter - http://winlame.sourceforge.net/download.php). :)

Nah - just tried this out.

Nero wont convert it because it says "microsoft does not permit in any of its licences the converting of wma files".

Think the only way round converting wma to mp3 is burning it audio then ripping it back 2 mp3...
