Briggsy
Has anyone seen this guy DJ? I saw him last night at GodsKitchen (one of the reasons I went is because Jules and Marcel Woods were both on the line-up). Jules is my favourite DJ by far, but Marcel Woods was definately the man of the night last night. I'd rate him 11/10 on last nights performance, Jules 8/10, Sander Van Doorn 7/10 (very dull Electro-Trance set), and Mark Eteson 8/10 too. Marcel Woods banged it out constantly and carried on from where Jules left off - Jules finished his set on Tran 4 (which I asked him to play), The Fabio Stein remix of Keep Me Running, and finally Vrantique - Vrantique. Marcel Woods played some relatively unknown tunes for the first hour of his set, and then for the second hour, he played some of the "bigger" tunes - including his own Monotone, Cherry Blossom, Advanced (original mix first and a brand new remix a little later), plus a brand new tune that he'd only just finished and was remaining very tight lipped about. That new tune took the roof off GodsKitchen and four people in quick succession went up to Marcel to ask what the tune was called (but he wouldn't say - only that its coming on on High Contrast in the Winter). Marcel was amazing last night! Jules was great too - flawless mixing, but a few too many tunes that we've heard time and time again. Mark Eteson was still floating around in the DJ booth though so Jules asked him if he had any objections to him playing his "Cherry Whip" bootleg to which Mark Eteson punched the air and said "yeah, go for it!" - that was the highlight of Jules's set as it got the dance floor full! Mark Eteson had a dance to it too in the booth! Jules recorded the set and was making notes on a pad of what tunes he was playing - so I assume thats going to be the "June" mix on his website Jules signed my "Proven Worldwide" CD too, so i'm quite chuffed with that
