Buying a Digital Camera - advice??

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

I leave the country this weekend but need to buy myself a nice digital camera. Nothing rubbish cos I'd like great pictures but also nothing flash cos I'll probably get mugged anyway. They've really come down in price, any suggestions? I haven't a clue - although a mate has a Casio one with a nice big screen on the back, and it's very slim - that sounds perfect.

If you have any suggestions for me I'd be v grateful!

Hey Tim.

As we have discussed previously I am a fan on Canon. They specialise in photography and are also reliabel and offer great quality. The one Bjorno showed of that casio looks mint though...

Can you recollect any exact models? I want to be able to stroll into the shop and say:

"Hello. I'd like the CS-455J68-BG5 Dog's B-Flashmeister please"

and until I see something or I'm recommended something better and cheaper, I can get it.

Cheers in advance again guys... I'll be sure to put it to good use and post some pics up :D

haha, lmao, ok between them the yhave 3 different ones, firstly this one:

Casio Exilim EX-S500

ex-s500eo_large.jpg

5 Megapixels, 3X optical zoom, and 2.2" monitor screen in a card-size configuration

Price - (Froogle) £190

Casio Exilim EX-Z600

ex-z600_large.jpg

The EX-Z600 offers 6.0 megapixel high resolution photos in a stylish, compact, and pocket-sized package. The extra large 2.7-inch Super Bright LCD produces an impressive luminance of 1200 candelas per square meter.

Price - (Froogle) £170

Casio Exilim EX-S600

ex-s600be_large.jpg

A 6 Megapixel CCD for superior high-resolution photo imaging, a 2.2-inch LCD screen in a stainless steel thin body digital camera. Color Blue.

Price (Froogle) - £180

Essentially, the 1st and 3rd cams are the same but different pixel qualities - the second one has a bigger display and better zoom but is slightly bigger thatn the S600/S500 which are stupidly thin. Very sexual and good value for money considering i got my digital camera a couple of years ago at 3.1 megapixel and it was reduced from £250 to £150![/img]

I bought my PC about 3 years ago - £200! 2Ghz, Ive spent about £250-£300 tops on it for upgrades and its the shizzle! :) They used to be at least £1k, you can still get em for that, but then you are getting super machines :)
