What made you get into Tim Westwood as a DJ?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I just wanted to see if anyone would respond with "Eazy boi! I got into Westwood cos I used to listen to Jules, and I love those crazy joints that Westwood starting dropping innit - especially the bomb sounds that Westwood starts his set with. They're crrrrazy."

I got into Westwood because of Jules's last dance tune. The Transition from Trance to Hip-Hop has been made perfect now thanks to the last dance........................... (or maybe not *cough*)

The moment Westwood's bomb and screeching tyres went off at 11.00pm on Friday nights on Radio 1, if you listened really carefully I swear on my mother's life you could hear tape decks around Britain being stopped simultaneously.

I have to admit and maybe this was due to my age, that I used to enjoy staying in on a Friday night and listening to Jules followed by Westwood. I quite liked the rap in the 2000/2001 period and although I wasn't as regular a listener as I was to Jules, I did enjoy Westwood's show. Now though, these days are gone.

I love the bit when they say turn off if easily offended etc haha, as if that will stop people. And then the gun noises. On the Friday night shows, there used to be an opening ident that was something like a guy running over a girl "get out the way baby get out the way....keep it moving *crashing noise* screeching tyres*" then some scratching and a record is ruined. Homes!

Briggsy you've been cracking me up all the way through this thread, really laying into Mr Westwood. Agree with Sir Bailey though in that he has 2 Radio shows.... I think Radio 1 should keep him for diversity, but preferably between 4-5am on Tuesday nights
