Briggsy
A ticket for Godskitchen tonight! Has anyone got a spare to sell at all? Of all the line-ups this year, this is one that I really wanted to go to. Armin, Jules, Matt Hardwick and Mark Eteson Let me know please if you have a spare ticket Cheers chaps! Max Kane
I'm missing this one aswell, bit miffed being as X-mas parties are always wicked events at Gods. Saw one on ebay going for £80 other than that haven't seen any of them for sale, sorry mate
Briggsy
Sods law! I wasn't expecting this to sell out - I went to the xmas party last year with Jules, Armin and O' Bir and it was nowhere near a sell out They sold out the day before I got paid - and exactly the same thing happened when Tiesto was there (although I got a ticket for Tiesto in the end). Gutted though as this is one line-up I didn't want to miss. Jules for obvious reasons, Armin because he's always good once he gets past the first hour of blandness, and Matt Hardwick because he's a DJ i've not seen a lot of. Max Kane
The last couple of X-mas parties have been wicked, Armin's set at last year's event was right up there, pure class. O'Bir was on fire that night too, playing the SvD Remix of Mode Hookers near the end & then finishing with Luminary 'Amsterdam' got the night off to a perfect start, can't believe it's been a year already
Briggsy
I know - its flown by! I can still remember Jules's set quite well! I didn't catch all of Armin last year - I went with my ex and her mate, and they're not very dance music minded. They only went because they like Jules and didn't want to hang around much after that. Armin started off a bit too slow for my liking, so I got bored quickly too - although after I saw the tracklisting for the later part of his set, I wish i'd stayed longer. I love Armin once he gets going - but I can't stand the first hour or so of his sets - they're too proggy and warm-upish. I like my stuff pacey and banging. He was the best Trance DJ at Global Gathering by a mile though - pretty banging throughout
Max Kane
A proggy Armin set is my kind of Armin set
Briggsy
Oh yeah, i'm not knocking it - there's a place for it in the industry - its just not my thing, particularly at 2am when the place should be fairly banging after Judge Jules. Armin will always be on later as he's the headliner, but it always makes sense to have him on after Mark Eteson and before Jules. Armin's proggy sets are really suited to peak time IMo - they're more like warm-ups sets. Armin doing a full-on Trance set though can't be beaten. If his sets were always full-on like the Global Gathering set, he'd probably be my favourite DJ, because technically, when it comes to mixing, tune selection and set flow, he's the best around by a mile out of all the Trance DJ's. How Tiesto and PvD win the number 1 dj poll is beyond me because Armin has stacks more talent. In a way, I hope Armin never wins the number 1 title because he might get a bit cocky about it like the other 2 have - whereas at the moment, he's very down to earth, friendly and a great chap to speak to. he was very welcoming when I interviewed him earlier in the year, and not in the slightest bit arrogant or cocky. He was enthusiastic and clearly loves his job - and thats what I admire most about Jules and Armin. They've not forgotten their roots.
