Briggsy
I don't think any pain is worse than back pain. Toothache and ear ache take some beating, but back ache beats them all. I've always had slight back problems since I was a kid because back then, I used to sleep curled up in a ball, so over the years, thats not done my spine any good. I'm still at work, but really really struggling. I've got so much work to do at home on my PC for my website too, but can't sit still for more than 15 minutes because it throbs. I'm dying to get on the decks for a mix, but that makes my back ache, and i'm dying to get some work done on the PC too I can't stand up, and I can't sit down. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Fecking agony! Chrissie Brown
"Pilates" is very good for back problems as it helps to strenghthen the spine. Also helps your posture. I'm feeling sorry for myself today as l have a touch of flu, a headcold, feeling sick and dizzy which has kept me in bed most of the day. A waste of a day off especially as it is my only day off for the next 6 days. I must be ill cos l haven't been able to listen to any music since Sat night. I'm off to bed now as l have to be up at 4.45 am tomorrow for work. Fortunately l will be finishing early tomorrow so l can go to bed if l still feel rough. Bjorn
mate, if u think thats bad... One of my best mates hurt his back ages ago lifting sum stuff at work. He sprained a disc in his back which ended up pressing on a nerve in his back causing immense pain in his leg & back. Had it for ages, as the osteopath tried to work it back into place. Was at his one weekend a few weeks ago and he was in tears cos of the pain (he was on constant painkillers), the next morning he woke up and couldn;t move - we had to call the emergency doctor who quickly gave him a load of diazapan which knowckedh im out. He saw a specialist the next day (he's lucky to have private healthcare) and had surgery a few days later to remove the offending disc and insert sum pins. Since then he has to keep his back straight but standing up or lying down flat for 45 mins out of every hour. Proper on the mend now - he will be making his 'raving' comeback in 2 weeks!! hehehe Back pain must be really bad, im lucky enough never to have had any.. Briggsy
I feel for the guy mate - back pain is a nightmare. At least with Tooth ache and ear ache, you can dose yourself up with painkillers until the dentist or doctor can cure the problem. With back ache, even with painkillers, you still have to move around and try to get comfortable, so you get sharp twinges that are too strong for the painkillers. I've never been in so much discomfort in my life. I've just had to type out an Escape Into The Park press release for my site, and its killed me. "Pilates" is very good for back problems as it helps to strenghthen the spine. That sound painful. In fact, anything foreign-sounding is normally quite painful - Karate, Tai-Chi and Yoji Biomehanika are prime examples
Aza
I too get a bad back (occasionally). Mine started out in footy as a teenager, it runs in my family and I especially have to take care at the gym doing weights etc. Used to go to the doctors who kept putting it off to me as 'trapped nerve'... Neuro
Back in the day I used to carry a massive holdall to school every day which screwed my back, and being opening bowler every summer in my school and local Cricket team I realize now put a lot of pressure in unwanted areas (hell, even one of my shoulder's is still bigger than the other because of all the Cricket I did, lol!) However, when your back is not in tip top shape I cannot recommend highly enough a good massage from a nice lass - ideally a foreigner As long as she knows what she's doing, and you're lying absolutely flat on your front, the results are great. If it's something more serious and a massage ain't gonna do much, then a trip to the doctor's might be a good idea.

Quadrant
I can give good massages. Massage increases the circulation of the blood and the flow of lymph through your body, vital to the detoxification process. When used for massage, this blend of juniperberry, lime and cedarwood essential oils may help to stimulate your system to remove toxins.

Chrissie Brown
I can sympathise with anyone who suffers with bad backs. I damaged the base of my spine (coc-cyx) 8 years ago after a new clutch was fitted in my car. The new clutch was very stiff and after driving from Penzance to Oxford (approx 270 miles) l could hardly walk. I was in so much pain, day and night, and had to be treated by an Osteopath for 3 months and was unable to go to my fitness classes for about 5 months. I put on almost a stone in weight which was very depressing. I now have an Automatic car and have two MeDesign backfriends, (portable seats) I keep one in the car and one in the house. I still get pain in my back if l sit on a settee for any length of time (without using a "backfriend") but most of the time l'm painfree. I have been going to Pilates, which is a bit like Yoga, for the past 7 years and this has also helped my back.
