Quadrant Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Can people really just leave this story alone? Princess Di was a selfish individual who was tragically killed... the Stevens enquiry has already proved this. Yet people keep insisting on the "murder" line - great for the media and it's exciting news (bad news always sells, doesn't it?) but not good for the Royal family. Leave them alone, is what I say.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6418227.stm?ls Quote
Briggsy Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I agree entirely. I'm sick of hearing about this now. It was tragic that she died, but for gods sake, leave it be now. We're all sick of hearing about it, and no matter how many inquiries we have (at taxpayers expense...), its not going to bring her back. Could you imagine all this money being wasted on inquests if it had been some random member of the public? No? Exactly.... I'm not very royalty minded anyway. They're just a bunch of spongers in my opinion. Quote
bigsteve Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 There does seem to be a craze of Controversy theories in recent years. I must admit, the whole Diana thing is a strange one., but whatever happens I highly doubt we will ever know what truly happened. Maybe it will all come out in the wash when our grandkids start drawing their (private) pension Quote
Briggsy Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 I don't really see why the media are saying there's something "fishy" about it to be honest. The guy was three times over the drink-drive limit, and had drugs in his bloodstream. Surely that alone is enough evidence that he wasn't fit enough to drive. Whats "fishy" about that? Quote
bigsteve Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 There will always be people that won't believe the 'official party line.' Quote
Gregg Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 there's always a thousand and one way tax-payers money can be wasted. of course come budget time, taxes always have to be raised as there isn't enough money in the budget. Quote
Briggsy Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 of course come budget time, taxes always have to be raised as there isn't enough money in the budget. Yeah definately. Another prime example is when people die in a blatantly obvious way such as a car crash or a serious stab wound to the heart. They they spend thousands on a post mortem to find out the cause of death! Errr hello - I think the hole in the heart could be a big clue!! When you're alive, you can't get a penny out of the Government, but when you die in a blatantly obvious way, they're quite happy to spend thousands of pounds on fidning out why you died. Quote
Chrissie Brown Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I agree with most of your comments. It's a waste of money and the only people who will gain are the lawyers etc, racking up a bit more dirt about Diana's life. She's not here to defend herself. I feel sorry for the 2 Princes, its not going to bring their mother back. Quote
Quadrant Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 The whole mourning process was a disgrace anyway, what ever happened to the stiff British upper lip? Britain went hysterical, it was embarrassing. Quote
bigsteve Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 what ever happened to the stiff British upper lip? Sheep and Elton John Quote
Quadrant Posted March 8, 2007 Author Posted March 8, 2007 I don't want to hear stories of sheep and Elton John  Quote
