Wakey
Hi everyone, I'm off to America in about a weeks time. I was thinking of picking up some CDJs whilst over there as the prices I've found online are much less than they retail for over here. Does anyone know anything about the voltage of equipment such as this over in America and whether it will work in the UK?
bigsteve
The yanks are on 110 Volts - they have to be different don't they. Sockets/plugs are different, but that can be easily fixed with an adaptor. I can't imagine that an American CDJ would work in the UK, in fact surel our voltage would kill it?This guy seems to think so: http://users.pandora.be/worldstandards/electricity.htm Maybe you can get a voltage adaptor too? Briggsy
As far as i'm aware, there's a big difference between USA voltages and UK voltages. A UK plug will frazzle it! You cna go Euro to UK, and UK to Euro, but anything else can't be done. Its a similar case in Australia - i've just had family move to Australia, and none of their electrical stuff can work out there.
Wakey
Hmm! Thanks for the help, it does seem that with our voltage being so much higher than America it would probably blow up most things. I know a friend of mine from canada has a denon cd mixing unit which works over here, he just has adapters on the plugs. Maybe I should speak to him. Would be good if I could get some as it would save a lot of £££.
Wakey
So apparently I've found out that 1000's are multi voltage and 800's are not. So a 1000 would take either 110 or 220. I may just buy some here to save hassle! Cheers for the help tho.

Briggsy
here's a few tips to make sure you fit in in America! 1. Finish every sentence with "Have a nice day!" 2. You MUST have bad dress sense. brown sandles, grey shorts, black socks and a green wolly jumper are necessities. 3. When you eat food, you MUST request everything in a large size. 4. You must watch Jerry Springer at least 3 times a week. 5. Just act very annoying. Sorted!
