HTFR catalogues

Another catalogue from HTFR came in the post today, a big chunky one with probably all their stock in. I bought 1 vinyl off them about 8 years ago and they still keep sending me the damn things - its a waste of my time and a waste of their money (actually, the latter is ok, but still.)

I shall prepare a medieval cermony in my garden later this evening to incinerate the catalogue satisfactorily.

It says in the catalogue that if you send an email to savethetree@htfr.com then they'll remove you from their list.

But yeah, if they stopped sending thousands of brochures out to all these people that don't want them (me included), then maybe they'd be able to reduce their extortionate vinyl costs. If I wanted something from them, then i'd buy it - sending me a catalogue isn't going to make me buy. iIn fact, once people open it up and see their prices, I should think it'd put them off more than anything.

I see they do a "price promise" now - they'll match a price if you find it cheaper elsewhere. All I can say is, I hope they've taken on extra staff to deal with the amount of calls they'll get - they're the dearest DJ shop in the UK. Perhaps they can start a "delivery time promise" in the future too? Sapphires are cheap and you get your order within 24-48 hours. HTFR are expensive and deliver your goods within 24-48 days - and then it turns up with a foreign plug on it, but thats another story.....

On a side note, what happen to that gorgeous blonde bird that worked there about 6 years ago with the megagiganticmassive boobs? They're more than welcome to send her in the post to convince me to buy something. I'll happy twiddle her EQ's and fiddle with her fader

One of the best ways to combat unwanted mail is to; not open the mail, cross out the address, and write "return to sended - not at this address".

I seen something on this a while ago, it should halt the process and not only that, it then costs the company who sent you the damn thing time and money!

Another option to avoid unwanted mail from someone is to send it back in a second-hand jiffy bag without postage stamps. If its in a jiffy bag, it'll be classed as a package (Royal Mail's expensive posting option) - and if its sent without stamps, they have to pay for it when it gets delivered there - it becomes the recievers responsibility.

I kept doing it to Capital One - they sent me letters inviting me for credit cards every fortnight, so I kept sending the forms back in their envelopes - but the forms weren't filled in. Every time I did it, they had to pick up the postage costs, and they then stopped sending me the invites every fortnight. Two weeks later, our local radio presenter complained of exactly the same thing live on air, and encouraged people to pretty much do what I did - only he told them to stick a lump of turd in the envelope too with a note saying "you keep sending me your s***, so here's some of mine".

  • 6 months later...

And what's all these silly cars and vans you put on your vinyl whilst it goes round, how tacky is that? How does it work? And doesn't it mess up your vinyl?

Would you like some HTFR car stickers?
