I remember when everyone used to slate the MDR V700's - that seems to have stopped these days.

I've always had MDR-V700's and i'd never change to anything else.

why were peeps slating them? i had Senns before they broke. They lasted me a good few years. I went for something different and quite like them.

People said they broke easily. I had mine for a good 6 years without any problems until the left speaker blew - but to be fair, I did have them constantly loud.

I bought the same again two years ago, and they're still going strong.

Things only break if they're looked after poorly. I look after my equipment, so therefore it lasts. If people throw their headphones in their bags, and then slam their bags down, then its obvious they're going to crack

Just looked closly at my ebay account and its says Sony MDR V700 / Z700. To be fair they are pretty damn good, although the HD25`s are better, i bought these because i have my laptop in my front room and my mrs after gets the hump when im checking out tracks / mixes during such important programs like eastender , The OC etc etc.

But i have been stung......

Sorry to hear that mate. What are the differences between the V700 and the Z700 anyway?
