Briggsy
Big Sam has resigned from Bolton Its a big shame, but I can understand why he's done it. He's been there for 8 years and achieved a lot. Finshing 5th is the best he'll ever do there - they can't compete alongside Man utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. I was reading a column of his a few weeks ago, and he said finishing 5th with their resources is more than they could ever hope for - he said it'd be like winning the champions league. Apparently, rumours are, he's set to replace Stuart Pearce at Manchester City. I'd like to see him do well again, but I don't think he'd have the same working relationship at Man City. Because of his success at Bolton, I think he could pretty much do as he pleased without the board questioning it, whereas I think he'd have a few more restraints at Man City - after all, they get through their managers a fair bit. A sad day for Bolton

Max Kane
The most under-rated manager in the Premier League imo, the job he's done for Bolton is magnificent, hopefully he'll choose the correct next job & continue to be successful
Neuro
Always been wary of Big Sam, wasn't he accused of taking back-handers a while back
Moonman
Always been wary of Big Sam, wasn't he accused of taking back-handers a while back yeah thats why he never does interviews with the beeb on MOTD isnt it? Anyway, I hope he joins us at City Of Manchester...We've waited nigh on 15 years to be a top club like we should really be. I like big Sams ethics. He's very similar to Alex Ferguson, he takes the same approach to the game and his man management skills seem to be very good. He has the respect of the dressing room which is vital for any club to do well.
Briggsy
He's very similar to Alex Ferguson Apart from Big Sam isn't as miserable, doesn't think the sun shines out of his own arse, and he's spent nowhere near the money that Alex Ferguson has
Uberduck
Apart from Big Sam isn't as miserable, doesn't think the sun shines out of his own arse, and he's spent nowhere near the money that Alex Ferguson has Oi!! Watch it!! Fergie is the immortal god! He'll be managing even when he's coming on the pitch using his zimmer-frame. Hopefully we'll have the decency to replace him with someone who'll inspire us to play the beautiful football we're playing now. It'd be a disaster if Quieroz took over with his 4-5-1 european tactics. Everyone says Keano is a dead cert to replace him but I think Roy has to prove his worth as a manager 1st. Doing a good job so far at Sunderland but only time will tell his longevity. Wouldnt like to be a player getting a half-time bollocking from him!! All those years of Fergie kicking hairdryers/boots around the dressing room will be coming out!! In respect of Big Sam stepping down and Little Sam stepping up, I think it's a massive loss for Bolton. I have huge respect for the guy. I'm not sure how well they'll do under Little Sam as he's never had a managers role, only coach (although with Eng, Liverpool et al.). It'd be a shame for Big Sam to have to take a step down and take control of another club needing an uplift (i.e. Man City) as he deserves a big(ger) club where he prove his worth. If rumor has it, he left Bolton because of a lack of funds for players limiting their success. I think this is probably tripe because a club that has risen from the second tier of football into the Premiership and are maintaining their position, I think they should be happy with where they are in the league (i.e. UEFA cup). Allardyce got 10m for Anelka last season didnt he? Thats hardly small money and doesnt support the gossip for his reasons for leaving. Anyway, a sad day for Bolton.
