Best cart / stylii for vinyl rips

Neuro

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to hunt down a nice cart/stylus to replace my Stanton 680 EL II cart, which has served me well and given me some great rips.

I'm simply after exceptional sound quality for ripping vinyl - not for mixing (and definitely not for scratching. Obviously.)

Any recommendations? What about the Ortofons?

Good choice Briggsy, thats exactly what I did about 2 months ago, sounds great. The only limiting factor now is the state of some of the vinyls themselves which obviously degrade over the years...

Thanks matey yeah I thought that, I'm going to invest in a spanking new one. Just wondered as a long shot if anybody had one lying around which they have hardly used...

Ortofons look sexy as well, and you can actually see what you're doing! It will me nice treat for me when I get back to the UK. :)

I agree with you there Tim. They were a great upgrade for me when I started earning a few pennies and moved up to better equipment :)
