We went to see Axwell & Vitalic @ plug on sat night, went to an after party till 7am then went home with the missus, got up at 1 & went to my mates house - my mates were still drinking they'd had about 5 bottles of wine & a load of cider. 2 of them then nailed a bottle of red wine each (necked) then one of them necked 2 pints of dooleys... they were a mess. Brilliant entertainment mind!

Bjorn have I seen a video of one of your friends necking a pint of vinegar?? Or was that someone else?

As I mentioned somewhere else, I've really cut down my drinking to amazing effect - last saturday before the Arches in Glasgow despite being out since 4pm I paced myself perfectly and it ended being a brilliant night!

Gin & Tonic done the Spanish way cannot be beaten:

They give you a huge glass beaker (around 300ml), and add some generous ice. Then they scrape and squeeze lemon skin over the top with tongs to get the zest out (lemon skin is more concentrated than the centre), rubbing it round and round the glass rim before finally dropping it in. Then a jug of prepared pure lemon juice is produced and drizzled over the ice. Finally, Tanqueray gin is poured liberally until it's 3/4 full, before being topped up with a dash of freshly opened tonic and stirred. It is exceptionally strong but for just 4 euros and it's definitely the most refreshing and gorgeous drink imaginable!

I had an absolute skinful in B'mouth on Saturday. Went out for the England game then again for the Rugby. Stayed out till 5am and some rough calculations figured we drank a good 12 pints of lager (mostly Stella) then some other shorts. As it commenced at 3pm it didn't cause the usual stella effect. The dozy fecker in one bar served our Sambucas in a poxy test tube. Feels like your drinking a sperm sample or something  .

I'd rate my drinks as:

Fosters

Stella (has to be a good pint of it and not flat!)

Wine (Red or white)

Sambuca

All really alcoholic!! ;);)

The drink that makes me wanna puke is Peach Snapps! because when i was 12 i downed a whole bottle to myself and was a bit ill!!! ever since anything with a smell of peach makes me wanna puke.

My drinks of preference are:

Most things with Vodka, mainly Vodka/Redbull and Lemon n Lime/Vodka

Holsten Pils/Stella/Becks

Goldslager/Sambuca/Aftershock

I suppose most stuff really!

just spoke to one of my mates on the phone - we left 2 of them asleep on our mates floor passed out about 7pm, he ses he woke up at 12 midday today - 17 hours sleep, thats rediculous! He had no way of getting home, so him & my other mate had to sit & wait for about 7 more hours for my mate who's hosue it was to get home & drive them home, no suprise that he's been sick more times than the number of hours sleep he's had, LOL. He also has no recollection of then umerous stupid things he did b4 he passed out... lol.!

I start of with Kronenbourg with a bit of lime in it to take off the edge, then i progress to G&T (thats usually followed by hours of ribbing of me mates) peppered with various shots.

If it's a quality Gin & Tonic, (and not a gesture with crap cheap gin and no lemon) then stick with it - by the end of my time in Spain, if our building of students went out together I promise on my life that I had by the end successfully converted every single person to a Tanqueráy & tónica (or simply "gintonic" in Spanish, believe it or not it has become anglicised as word for the drink itself) - and this included Norwegians, Spaniards, Americans, Germans, Danes, Australians, Columbians, you name it! And most of them were having none of it when they arrived.

Hoegaarden Blanc for my beer preference if I can find it, along with that awesome chunky octagonal glass!

I get depressed drinking gin so l rarely drink it now but l am rather partial to a drop of Genever gin (Dutch gin) which doesn't make me feel depressed.

I use to be a quite a heavy drinker as l got into the habit of drinking every night and it made me aggressive and very arguementative so l knocked it on the head and l only drink very occassionally now. I have to be up so early for work that l can't drink the night before anymore and to do so would be very irresponsible as l have to drive to work.

Do you drink when you're using this board by any chance Chrissie? :P:P

On a side note, I've not touched a drink for over a year now, and to be honest, I'm not that bothered at all. I don't need a drink to have a good time - in fact, I probably enjoy myself more because I don't have to go for a piss every ten minutes and miss 300 tunes when i'm listening to Jules or Eddie

Nice bit of Vodka doesn't go amiss on a night out, or drinking at home before you go out. I can't drink pints all night because of the bladder situation Briggsy mentions, but if it's just a casual pub drink I like to get some cider or European (not usually American) lagers. I like Tequila shots, though nothing that tastes remotely of aniseed.

The best drinks deal I have ever seen was in Tijuana, Mexico, where you are being ripped off if you pay anything more than $1 for a Corona. 10 Coronas for $7.50 was the offer, served in a bucket. That's about £3.25 :)

Ooo, I forgot Desperados!! Only ever seen them sold in Newquay when I've been down there for a wave. Basically a Corona with a shot of tequila in the bottle. It comes as that, you dont buy the two individually and pour one into the other!!

desperados-large.jpg

It goes down so well but due to the tequila, it catches up with you pretty fast and hammers you.

Good point Uber - I do like desperados, a good drink when you need a change and you come back to your mates who say "what's that? that tastes pretty nice!" :D

And Christian - Corona's are the fail-safe. It has to have lemon or lime in though. In Spain they are called "Coronita", and I keep calling it that over here, can't help it!
