Quadrant
I ordered from a health farm these green tablets and they are amazing. I recommend you try them - Holland and Barrett do the trick. Does anyone take them?

Quadrant
Spirulina is a microscopic blue-green aquatic plant and it is nature’s richest and most complete source of organic nutrition. Spirulina is highly digestible owning to its unicellular form. For the United World Health Food conference to declare Spirulina as the "Greatest Super Food on Earth" is not surprising, especially considering that 1 kilogram of Spirulina contains as much nutrition as 1,000 kilograms of assorted vegetables. Since that declaration made in 1974, scientists have found extensive uses of Spirulina. Spirulina is the richest source of protein, with the added advantage of having zero cholesterol. It has all the 18 essential amino acids that the human body needs. Spirulina is the richest and the only vegetarian source of Vitamin B-12, the richest source of Beta-carotene (Pro. Vit A) and natural Iron. It contains the complete complement of minerals required by your body. All of this explains how Spirulina restores nutritional balance in your diet and supports you from within, thus keeping diseases at bay. Spirulina is rich in natural Vitamin B-12 and helps in overcoming stress, while a whole array of B complex Vitamins, including Vitamin B6 and essential amino aids calm and soothe your frayed nerves. Spirulina contains 10 times more Potassium than common vegetables, and greatly helps in easing hypertension. Lead and other toxic heavy metals present in the atmospheric pollution, along with free radicals generated in our body are responsible for many degenerative and fatal ailments like premature ageing, cancer, cataract formation, arthritis, etc. Spirulina rich in Beta-Carotene, vitamin E, Zinc, Selenium and the rare and essential Gama Linolenic Acid, (GLA), along with Chlorophyll (green) and Phycocyanin (blue) helps in neutralizing the free radicals and cleansing away the heavy metals, and thus keeps degenerative diseases away so that you look and feel healthier and younger. Benefits of Spirulina: * The richest source of iron and Bit B12, prevents nutritional anemia, fatigue, giddiness * The richest source of Beta-Carotene (Pro-Vit A) for good eyesight, to prevent night blindness and for glowing skin. * Richest source of Vit E, prevents reproductive failures, protects the liver from toxicity. * Richest source of chlorophyll, which cleanses the blood, prevents and cures digestive organs disorders and acne (pimple). * Improves memory and mental strength due to the presence of Niacin. Could these tablets be the sole cause of Quadrant's many personality disorders? Alas, far from it, young Sir!
Max Kane
Alas, far from it, young Sir! Was only teasing How can all those facts be true? Surely if it were the case Spirulina would be part of everyone's diet & would be mass produced & sold at extortionate prices
Quadrant
Well I take them and I feel more alert on the whole. Moreover, my visions are more lucid and my memory clearer. I also report better sleep, and quicker recovery time from minor ailments such as colds. The tablets are themselves very cheap but you do have to take 9 a day, which is about 3 grams. Uberduck
9 a day? Jesus christ. You must look like a right biscuit muncher if you have to keep dropping pills all day! Yeah I've known about this stuff for years. Its used as an additive for fish food because of it's many nutritional components. Being a fisheries biologist at present, I dont have much contact with it but during my education I was well aware of it's existence and potential application. Basically Spirulina is the common name for a form of cyanobacteria (which also encompasses the harmful blue-green algae). There are two species under the genus Arthrospira. I have previously contemplated using this as a supplement but I have a good varied diet anyway coupled with a sharp brain and rarely get ill. In response to Tom's query of why don't they mass produce it and sell it at extraordinate prices, well it would be impossible to sell it at high prices because it is cheap/relatively easy to culture. The only real specialist process required is the tabletting of the product. Basically these organisms reproduce asexually by growing lengthways then simply splitting to form two seperate individuals. This must not be confused with binary fission which is basically the organism as it is simply splitting into two and creating an exact copy of itself. Biology lesson over. Class dismissed . Clever little things, I am impressed by this new info! Its used as an additive for fish food because of it's many nutritional components. Does this mean I will physically become a fish if I continue consuming them?
Uberduck
Yes, you're going to become a fish! First you'll grow external gills and then you'll migrate into the aquatic environment!! Ha, ha.
