Neuro
This will serve as the intermediary between my deck and PC to digitize my vinyl, seeing as I've bought shedload more. Creative don't make this anymore for some reason but what do you think of this? I can't find any that beats it on the market and if I'm lucky I should be able to nab this very cheaply (not £79.99 RRP, lol I can't afford that!)... The best thing is that it has digital input and output, which means it's also perfect for hooking to my MD deck and hi-fi. Uberduck
Is this basically a better quality version than the Creative Connect soundcard discussed in the 'Recording Problems' thread? Ive seen this one advertised for £47. I'd be prepared to pay a bit extra if the quality was that much better.
Simcut
Tim, I bought a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music Sound Card a while ago now and I love it, and I also bought a I/O Front Panel seperately which is fan-f***ing-tastic Will take pics of it soon =) Strongly suggest you explore those options, however, you have an Audigy card, dont you ? Neuro
Simon that card you got is an internal one - I'm not brave enough to undo my PC and install it myself, so I only looked on the market for external sound cards Your card is much better for gaming and video, and surround sound, but I'm only getting this for transferring my vinyl, tapes and MDs to computer (and eventually here (well, except the vinyl, obviously!)). You just plug in the USB and it's done. If I got an internal sound card, Simon's looks awesome. Hopefully though, this external one will only cost pennies - we'll know by Monday! Simcut
Hmmf X-Fi is really good for Music as well
Neuro
I know mate! I was just highlighting the fact that, unlike your internal sound card, the external one lacks somewhat in it's capabilities in the gaming and video department, that's all. It doesn't take away from the fact that the X-Fi is also the dog's in its powers for pure audio as well
