Neuro
Try this test out. All graduate employers use some kind of verbal and numerical tests these days, and I wanted to see what people on here got with this little example. I think my Maths is pretty good, but my score was very low... I personally think the time limit is exceptionally harsh. http://www.ase-solutions.co.uk/goto.php?se...0|l0|g0|d0& Then scroll down a little and click on the second one down called: EMG Numerical Practice Test The test takes just 5 minutes (there are 15 questions). In the real thing you have more time, with more questions. I'd be really interested to see how people did. Thanks...
Chrissie Brown
I've always been pretty good at maths but l only got one answer right and l didn't finish all the questions either as there just wasn't enough time.
bigsteve
Well, I scored 3. Questions that were clearly going to take a long time I skipped past and went to easier ones. 5 minutes is a ridiculously short amount of time to complete that test. Even with a calculator, I'd be hard pushed. Oh, and btw, my graduate employer didn't use anything like this at all. Just a 40 minute interview! Moonman
the police use this type of thing. You then have to do 4 role plays and carry out a final interview at the assessment centre. It's quite stressful and nerve wracking. Then you have do a fitness test.
Neuro
I know! I amazes me how long application processes are these days, for everything. Not only is it almost as if you are expected to know every intricacy of the job inside out before you've even started, but also that they can drop you at any one of the 462 different stages in the application process: For the majority of careers I'll have to fill in a very lengthy application form, then do a timed verbal test, a timed maths test, and possibly a timed cognitive test (all online), then sometimes a telephone interview, or/then a 1st interview, then an assessment centre, which includes a presentation, yet another interview, then a group exercise, possibly a group presentation, and then I find out whether my application has been successful.
