Judge Mental
Don't suppose anyone knows anyone thats selling a rubbish cd deck or has one lying around, don't care about scratches or features on it, just need a pitch control and the ability to play cd's, its just for accapellas and stuff. Been good at this for years but have never actually ventured into buying a 3rd deck, and Serato Scratch only lets you use 2 decks with it unfortunately. So might finally have to do what I don't want to, buy a cd deck lol. Still vinyl all the way though, I absolutely adore Serato
Moonman
i wanted to go Serato...it's too expensive buying decks again, Serato itself and a new laptop to run it! So i bought new cd decks. I'm going to upload a new mix soon.
Judge Mental
LOL, thats ironic, I bought Serato cos I haaaaaaaaate CD decks and loooooooove the feel of vinyl on my finger tips. Each to their own I guess EDIT: I read that wrong, realised we're agreeing lol, but still dont understand why people would sell their decks to get cd decks, when Serato is only £300. Fair enough the laptop part lol.
Moonman
i sold my technics aaaaaaaaaaaages ago to make way for Cd decks. I think that was the biggest mistake i made personally. Oh well. Cd Decks it is. I'd get a cheap cd deck if its going to be used a spare or for accapellas etc, the Vestax ones are quite good as are the CDJ200s and they dont break the bank either. I'm talking cheeeeeapest here with a pitch control that plays cds, the mp3 thing doesn't actually matter, I have a cd burner lol. If you've had one or can find something I'm happy with that lol. I've already spent about £4000 on my home setup in all (excluding records......), just need this with no special features. But have never looked into it before. Oh and if you know anyone trying to get rid of a cycloops 2 or whatever its called cos they don't wanna use it, I sure as hell will for a decent price. Got a few gigs coming up now and my imagination / creativity is in overdrive and I've used one before.
Quadrant
I don't understand how a pitch changer on a CDJ works - how can a CD be read any quicker than it already is? Does it have a massive read-ahead buffer or something, or a hard drive that gets constantly overwritten?? Is this why they're so ridiculously expensive too? Judge Mental
It has a big enough buffer in general, and I think they can read cd's faster if need be, its kinda like my serato I think, it makes up an entire wav picture as I start playing it. A wee bit of RAM (lol) can go a long way!
