FuzzY-LogiC
I'd vote for Traktor DJ Studio from Native Instruments. Great for laptop mixing, and it have plenty of features (if you need them) like midi-mapping. Of course Ableton is pretty big these days, with much more features, but it also comes with a longer learning curve.
simonross46
All of my success has come from Virtual DJ ... but its only useful for beginners, unless you squeeze it until the pips sqeak

Tim451
Traktor i'd say is the best but my personal favourite is Deckadance. It's pretty straightforward to use, has some nice features and it interfaces with all the major midi controlers right out of the box with no need to manually configure stuff. I used Deckadance with no problems right up until I got a pair of Reloop RMP-2 CD turntables.
Aza
Atomix is what i started off with! By the way, on the subject of software, what would you say IYO is the best software out there to produce? Fruityloops, Albeton?

Tim451
I really wish I could get to grips with Ableton or Cubase. I can use FL Studio relatively well but i've never been able to get so much as a basic beat going in Ableton
Number2Fan
I only recently got ableton, I find it easy so far to get the basics going but when I wanna do something a little different or for a bit longer I can't quite manage it. I blame my creativity for that though. Just downloaded a demo of Fruity Loops, haven't done owt with that yet though. I want a keyboard. Haven't made anything I'd play to anyone else yet either, just litttle practise runs, finding out what everything does. Seems fairly easy though! I think I tried Cubase the other week when I was viewing some secondary schools, seemed ok too.

Aza
I'll maybe have to get myself Ableton, wouldn't mind checking it out and have a bash! Will definately need to start from scratch though and learn the basics first - never used anything apart from Dance Ejay
