I'm fed up

My January blues are kicking in today, The buzz of new year and the expectation that a new year will be a step in the right direction, is wearing off, I've realised that I still have no money, I still look bloody awful, I'm getting older, and it's cold outside! I never get to go clubbing anymore.

When will things ever be on the up?

When will it be warmer?

I just can't be bothered to even try and be cheerful today, I've gotta get dressed and I have to go to the bank and the shops for food, and I'll have to budget beyond all top bankers abilities just to feed everyone this week, with the same old food again. ERGH!

What is the point of trying to make things better, when it never ever actually gets better. You look fine btw Jason. Assuming you look like you did in ya profile pic. :)

I feel much better than I did a fe weeks ago - i'm really chirpy at the moment, but before christmas, I felt so s***.

I think its cos I had a change of routine over xmas with two weeks off work, and now i've got a couple of things to look forward to such as finishing college and finally having a qualification in 4 weeks. My mixing is the best its been for years at the moment and the nights are starting to draw out again too :D

The only thing p***ing me off is having to get ice off my windscreen every morning. I've been doing it since late October. Normally, I don't have to do it until around January time. Its been a harsh winter so far :( I hate winter. I'm all for long days and scorching weather (not that we see much scorching weather).

Yeah well I had to scrap my car in December and cannot afford a new one so I envy any windscreen scraping, I live in a s*** area and need to be able to get out with the kids from time to time. So I feel sad that its gone. I thought I might have a little bit more money in January as I prepared for Xmas well, etc, but I haven't! Well i suppose I have more than if I had bought all the presents in December, but I'm no better off really!

Ergh! No matter what i do I still never look good! :( Anyway, tough s*** really innit!

Glad you are feeling a bit better Briggsy!

I'm quite chipper lately too, never minded the winter & the snow fall this week has made it actually pleasurable to walk the dog in the fields behind our house. I've got some good weekends lined up for Jan so I'm looking forward to it

God it's freezing today. I love crisp, cold, sunny mornings but this overcast cold stuff is rubbish. Roll on summer (if we actually get one  ).

This Met Office say:

Impacts

The cold spell caused significant problems in many areas of the country. The Government's bill for Cold Weather Payments is expected to rise to more than £100 million, with Londoners becoming eligible for the payment for the first time since the scheme was introduced a decade ago.

South East Coast Ambulance Service manned its GOLD control for a period, and many A&E departments reported being busier than normal, with cases of flu and broken bones raising admissions.

On the roads, icy conditions led to numerous closures and a significant increase in accidents. Motoring organisations reported a 100% increase in the number of call-outs they received.

The continuous cold conditions caused lakes and rivers to freeze in areas such as the Lake District, Hertfordshire and Essex. Boats were frozen in their moorings on the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal in Pontypool.

The sea froze along a part of the south coast at Poole, and Padstow Harbour was partially frozen. Even the fountain in Trafalgar Square was frozen.

Weather data

Parts of southern England have experienced some of their lowest temperatures since 1991, with south-east and central England recording an average minimum temperature of -8.1 °C and south-west England and South Wales recording an average minimum temperature of -8.0 °C.

Throughout the last fortnight, night-time temperatures have consistently fallen to lows of -8 to -10 °C. The coldest temperature recorded during the period was -12.3 °C during the night of 6-7 January, at Buntingford in Hertfordshire.

Statistics say it all :( . I'm going on holiday in a month so here's hoping the weather will be slightly warmer when I return -_- .
