Moonman
i never use filler tracks. There's more than one way to mix a tune dont just simply beatmix everything.

Moonman
always a possibility, sometime breakdown mix it aswell, one tune hits a breakdown, use the lead in beats from the next tune. Also dont you drum n bass people have "double drops" whatever they are...?
emy
Double drops are when you match the breakdowns so they then both "drop" at the same time (I think) Not really tried that much myself yet, I have some vinyls it would work well for though
simonross46
I have started to do transitions in peculiar places recently. My favourite is starting the next track when the break starts, so it builds up and then I drop the bass of the next tune instead mental! I often play tracks I've put into other mixes, but that is purely because I like them enough to play them again. I used to play 'Waiting For (Genix Remix)' in almost every mix of mine last year, even when it was 'old'. Go on a download spree. Whenever I finish a mix I always get a few tracks afterwards which I wish I had used but I didnt have them at the time. If you get a good handful of new tunes, no doubt one or two will work in your time of need.

Or just whack it on!
Number2Fan
I wouldn't really wanna hear the same tune twice in a mix, unless sufficiently different mixes of it were used!
JasonB
Shes vinyl only remember simon! talking fiver a record here! Ive had goes mixing d'n'b but cant get the beats spot on just like 1% out at best I find it harder than mixing haoppy hardcore simply 4/4 beats is easier for me although breaks tracks are just like d nb slower I noporbs with, maybe the speeds just it... anyhows I not one to advise with d'n'b mixing but I dont see no piorbs doing a couple of mixes in a shiort time of each other containing some of the same tracks, why do two mixes of completely different tracks unless yer showing variety or maybe coincentrating on a certain style od d'n'b? I dunno I'm rattling on again

emy
Oops number two...I meant using the same track in two SEPERATE mixes I did not make that clear I might change it again and use another track though, just got to the stage where I am so stuck and have some tracks I want to put in but they are SO hard to mix together And vinyl is £6 each!! So yes DJing is expensive for me!!! I still count it in 4s to mix
