    Starrting a Set

LOL - quality there from Quadrant (that infamous quote )! Tom that's decent of the DJ - that's prob the best thing to do IMO - if you gonna do something just have a quick word the DJ before you and take it from. That is though, assuming your not doing anything stupid and it is in the best interest for your audience
  2. Probably so... I think buy paying Paul they own the rights to the record and presumably only himself and other DJ's whom he gave it to can play it.

  9. This is becomingly increasingly more popular at work now :s I also notice the word 'basically' coming in more and more... I used to think the word was good, but by the time you say the word 'basically', you could have just got too the point already! OBVIOUSLY

    No wonder :@

Just coming back to update this post and following some advice from Mr Noffski (who should get back on here) just re-updated my driver and I have something! Just twiddling with the installation and settings again, I had to reinstall Nero (again) for Vista software update. All this just for a bloody OS upgrade! Only thing though, I did upgrade to Vista earlier than I wanted to because of the market hype, plus I do believe when all things are ironed out, it will be v.much worth it.
  12. Click Me... Love how the crowd rant and go 'oooooooo', and when each takes to the stand more fired up than the next. It's like a posh slagging off fight

What program do you use to record? I have also just found this from the MS site: When you use Sound Recorder to record audio in Windows Vista, the recorded audio may contain pops, clicks, or other distortions View products that this article applies to. Article ID : 936693 Last Review : May 5, 2007 Revision : 1.0 SYMPTOMS When you use Sound Recorder to record audio in Windows Vista, the recording may contain extraneous noises such as pops or clicks. Or, the recording may sound distorted. This problem may occur when you record from a device that is connected to the line-in port on the computer's sound card. Additionally, this problem may occur more frequently when Sound Recorder is configured to sample at rates other than 16 bits and 44100 hertz (Hz). This problem does not occur when you use certain third-party programs to record audio. Back to the top CAUSE This problem may occur if the recording volume is too high. This causes data clipping in the recording. Certain third-party programs may do a better job of automatically modulating volume levels that are set too high. Back to the top WORKAROUND To work around this problem, use one of the following methods, and then record the audio again: • Decrease the volume output of the device that is connected to the line-in port on the sound card. For example, if you have a portable MP3 player connected through the headphone jack of the device, reduce the volume of the MP3 device. • Decrease the volume of the recorded sound in the Hardware and Sound item in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Manage audio devices. 2. Click the Recording tab, click the audio device that you use to record sound, and then click Properties. 3. Click the Levels tab, drag the volume slider to the left to reduce the volume, and then click OK.

I've been trying to do a few mix recordings of recent, however things don't seem to be working well. After a bit of googling, would you believe it has something to do with the bloody operating system I am runnig; Vista! Quite shocking really, and I have tried a series of other options, but no luck - might have record through my works laptop now :s Take a look at what some people have said on discussion boards... "As I said in the other thread (and I can't try this myself either ), it may not be possible to record the line-out signal in Vista "but seems to be a feature that is lacking/outright missing in Windows Vista (Ultimate as well) It does go on, and what a B!tch really isn't is! Anyone here running Vista and making recordings from Line In on their DJ setups? Help appreciated.... Addendum: I have kinda got round this through Nero Wave Editor, but even disabling all my other devices bar my line in via sound control panel I get these sorta crackling, electricy popping sounds whilst playing..??
  15. Agree with that Chrissie, and I think it is with that same'ish' sound of Woods that I always like his tracks. His basslines and drum-claps are always very similar in most tracks and they are always phatt - I love mixing them. To give you some sorta of idea on what I mean, those who own a full club mix of Warrior - If You Want Me and 'Solex' listen to the first 32 beats and then comes in the 'whack' Michael Jackson btw also has some 'phatt' claps in his tracks (boy could he produce some awesome drum beats to his songs). Check out 'Bad' and 'Dangerous'
  16. is the word 'obviously' Now, I don't think this is a local/regional thing as I often hear it on the TV even coming from professionals on the news. More and more people seem to be using this word and by its very nature, it does not reflect 'what is actually obvious'. There are countless examples I could use, but if you are not sure what I mean by this post just bare it in mind and see/listen for yourself. I have actually been meaning to post this a few weeks ago as it is a sorta social/cultural trend doing the rounds of the nation. My theory on this is that (unless used as part of a sentence where what some is describing to what will have to be a layman - to make it obvious) it is a social cultural trend, but also used in conjuction to sort of by time in a sentence/answer and try to sound like you know what your on about and look better than you are    What are thoughts? In addtion to this, going back further, this one is still doing the rounds now: 'I mean'...
  17. Let's hope this is not the case now with the new schedule (something I very much doubt ) Following the above ^ and in particular with Michael Woods, I often find myself doing so with getting music tracks and playing stuff, if I like what an artist 'has' produced in the past, I am likely to search for other material they have done (even under different guises) and play that.
  18. Supporting himself is quite obvious when your as big a household or even to an extent a 'brand' like Judge Jules is. I suppose some tunes may just slip through the net as discussed previously with Jules having people listen to the tonnes of tunes he receives and telling him to 'play this'. Briggsy mate - what about Fabio Stein? He didn't really know him before did he and then came Tran-4 and then a whole ream of tunes...
  19. Steve: did you send the msg as we discussed earlier in the day? If not, I believe read my text (which I'm gutted ever more cos he missed my name [cries now]), and deffo must've mentioned 'Steve' for 'Simcut' after probably glancing at the shout and of course 'BigSteve' for your kind self
  20. Me 3 Nice flowing set there I can already see
  21. Yeh, sorry Tom if you took that the wrong way. Was merely putting across to indicate to me it can be quite funny/embarrassing at times and have had many of a time in the past where colours have let me down - esp after having worked in retail selling clothes... Nevertheless, I also look on the funny side of it for me and use it as a handicap so people give me the benefit of the doubt, hence the ' '

Suggestion: Just been re-skimming back through the main site Tim and, though I would put a suggestion forward... On this page (after I like the layout of the previous page; quick links) how about adding anchor tag's to jump to a particular month i.e have the month's of the year across the top of the page, clicking them will make you jump straight to the month if your looking for a particluar tracklisting from a certain month...
