1. Yeah, I did see an saying that he likes to gauge crowd reactions with a lot of his material before even then deciding to release it.The past few months I've really grown to love a lot of his work, which has even made me back track and check out previous productions, I think the guy is extremely talented a solid all round producer e.g. Eric Prydz, Pryda and Cirez D guises... His DJ sets have been awesome of late, especially at Creamfields last year - have listened to that about four/five times now
2. That does sound a little bit of good news and indeed you are right with those tracks. Olander is signed to Pryda Friends and Prdyz is a big fan of Depeche Mode, so surely he could have influence on it. Think it's been around for a good six months now though, which is why I'm not quite sure... That's crazy, Tim!
3. Great track and great era. Still hold this in high regard and absolutely dig the Marco V remix of this
4. Happy birthday, chief
5. Indeed, quality tune this, I always used to hammer the Paul Janes remix which was ftw!
6. Progress update with this quest.... After having a look at a Traktor S4 in action and having a few mixing sessions with a friend, I took the plunge and procured one - selling my CDJ 800's and DJM600 in the process to raise adequate funds. I did feel it saddening to do so since I've passionately loved my CDJ's, especially since making the transition to them from my Technic 1210's - decks which I first started out with. The flexibility and possibilities with these new DJ Controllers is insane, it took me a while to get used to the concept of it, but I've now managed to almost get back into the old swing of things and practice mixing sessions and sets. However, herein lies a rather annoying issue; I have a laptop running Windows 7, which also happens to be my main personal machine for everyday tasks. This means I have so many background processes running e.g. antivirus, firewall, windows updates and whatnot, all of which impact on the performance of the Traktor software – something which seriously affects ability to handle real-time audio processing - giving me ‘latency’ issues. The software can be configured to try manage this and give bigger buffers, but as my machine is around 3yrs old now, I don’t think it can handle it 100% effectively. I’ve not given up easy on trying either, I’ve followed many a guide to optimise and 'tune' Windows for running the Traktor solution, I’ve even partitioned my drive, installed a fresh – stripped down – version of Windows7 which is solely to run Traktor. I disabled Wi-Fi, power saving settings etc., but still experienced ‘crackling’ and audio dropouts. Further research online seems to now only point to the other suggestion which is on many message boards: buy a Mac! I contemplated this, and this is what my friend had which is why I didn’t even think once about such a potential issue, but you’re looking at around £800/900. I think it’s apparent why many professional DJ’s use a Mac now which is not because of its hardware (they now use similar if not the same stuff as Windows), but it’s purely the OS, which Apple’s seems far more superior and efficient. Also, look at many Video and Graphic editor’s, much stuff is done on a Mac for its rendering efficiencies… So, with a little news to share, too… As we are expecting our first new-born in a few months, my DJ time is already limited to mixing around full-time working (weekends and an hour here or there in the weeks – which is why I’ve not made many new mix demos the past year or so), I know time is going to become even more precious, and with whatever spare time I have, I’d want it to be with our baby. Do I still maintain my ultimate life hobby, continue my pursuit to succeed with the PC issue or buy a Mac? Is shelling out all that money worth it, especially if it’d only be used occasionally? Anyone else here with a Traktor or Pioneer Controllers? Parenthood and DJ'ing advise? Thoughts? Cheers
7. Thanks Nath - that looks v.interesting - will download and check out over the holidays Happy Xmas!
8. If you can, really suggest you check Eric's set out. It's absolutely super, I've listened to it half a dozen times now and it really rocks. I'm so astounded too since I'm taken back by so many of the tracks which seem so aptly selected, structured and mixed and (I'd say) over 75% of the stuff is Prydz own material. It's funny as I mention Prydz to folks and they still associate him 'Call on me', which I think is unfortunate but funny too as I'd guess that release was to make a name for himself and become recognized, now it seems all his stuff is so underground It's chance whether he'll release something. An interview I saw with him said he doesn't like recording live for annoyance of 'web rips' and new tracks of his only will be released based on his perception of crowd reactions... He and Ferry are by far my top two fave all round djs these past few years - both top quality producers with their aliases and guises and set mixing and structures, both sound characters, too. Tom, dug this out after checking out most of these sets from the day and think - by far - this was best for me. Structured, sublime - great tune selection. On my second listen now... Shame that some of the tracks I really like and want to grab are unknown; one in particular, though, , can anyone confirm if this is Pryda and provide any more infomation on it - such a sweet tune!Eddie's set really - unfortunately - sums him up of late for me. Really not digging his new style - dissappointing too since we all knew him from what he was and the style he set for himself. I know times change, but this - for me - is quite a radical one. Another similar view here.
9. Cheers Tom - you too! Happy holidays to all
10. No particular order, but if I thought up 10: Caned and Unable - Original and Starfighter mixes... You & Me VPL - T Break Hurricane It's Showtime Keep Me Running Requiem For Rascals The Clergy - Saints and Sinners Judge Jules Remix of Brainbug - Nightmare Jules and Michale Woods - So Special
11. Always been a fan of Depeche Mode and this song in particular - great vocals and great tune. This edit has been done so elegantly - seemingly maintaining and interpreting the feel with a dignified and slightly more up-beat approach Had this ticking over in my head for a few days and then it clicked I heard it from Eric Prydz's set at Creamfields back at the end of August. Seems Prydz is really supporting Jeremy who is signed to his Pryda Friends Label. It's not yet released and I'm not sure if it will, really really hope it does - what are your thoughts?
12. I have a few photos etc. from gigs, but the best piece of memorabilia I have is from a holiday to Ibiza and visiting Judgement Sundays. I bought a vest there and got all the DJ's there to sign it and since had it framed - it now stands above my decks
13.
But it offers 'automix' functionality, which you could just cue up your playlist and let them swap and fade in each other...

14. I think Atomix can do auto mixing, I certainly recall using this software over 10years ago when first starting out to learn mixing. I think virtual dj does the same - although not sure if it's free. Nero Wave Editor will do music editing, too.
15. Great tune, isn't it? After a bit of looking around, I believe it's Eric Prydz (presenting Pryda) and all that's specified as its title is 'WOWOW'. Not sure what that means or if it stands for anything? 'Eric Prydz pres. Pryda - ID (WOWOW)'
16. I can appreciate that this probably didn't need touching, but having heard Eddie's reasoning - it was a big fave of his personally so he wanted to put his own touch to it. Can kind of understand the same - as an example, 'Leaving London' does not need touching, but I'd love to have a go remixing it
17. See what you mean there above - both, and yes, you're right. Should've stated that it was more so from my own experience and interest, for example, I only really heard of Zo after '24 Hours', which even today, still rocks for me! Then came the likes of 'Lucky Strike', his remix of on Signalrunners and Tiesto. Those were - for me - my first real recognition of Zo. There was also a remix or so he did on the classic likes of U2's 'Beautiful Day' and Olive's 'Your Not Alone' - the latter which our own Mr Webster really nailed!
18. A great track in it's original self - always remember the it's unique, Halliwell has now had a bash at remixing it and bringing it back to us. Think it's his first attempt at a remix since his solo productions. What are your thoughts - crazy to see this is actually 127 bpm, I don't think I've ever gone that slow in a set - lol - and certainly never imagined Eddie dishing out at this.
19. Yeah the Mat Zo remix is v.good! Funny how his sound has also changed since he first established himself as a producer. His early day tracks were very euphoric and of a fine trance style, he now has gone for more of a slower, funky electro style: Frequency Flyer and his latest colab with Arty to name but a few...
20. Help please? tuneId.mp3
21. Thanks so much for looking, I'm actually after the original mix - although this is a pretty sweet mix. This release you found is also on trackitdown and you can download individually. Really itching to get a hold of this track...
22. Seen a few comments on this in the radio tracklists, thought I set up a thread to discuss since I've been playing this myself recently. I'm really digging the Mat Zo remix, think it works nicely. The sax (as mentioned before) does remind me of those Ibiza nights where it was Rocky (I think) playing it over the top who also did the part in Hi- Gate's Saxuality.
23. Oh - ok - thanks, Tim. Was excited then as thought there may have been a way around... I've checked all other sites (I know of inc. Beatport, Trackit, DjDownload & Juno). I think the prices aren't too bad, but yeah, deffo worth shopping around
24. Quite a few good tracks there. On paper doesn't look too bad compared to his recent sets. Viking is a great track...
